And every time she did, he looked over and sent her the dirtiest look he could before getting right back into his "too smart for Mariana" book.

When they arrived at the local station the sheriff welcomed them, not so warmly.

"I don't know why the FBI is here, we're doing just fine on our own." He says. Mariana rolls her eyes.

If you were doing your job right we wouldn't be here.

"I can assure you we won't get in the way. We will work on everything ourselves if you need us to." Hotch says. "You better stay in your lane. I don't need the feds ruining my town." The sheriff says. "You stay in your lane, we stay in ours. Now, could you show us the room you've set up for us" Hotch sternly stated.

The sheriff rolled his eyes and started walking them to the room. It was away from the officers working. It had a round table in the middle and a few tables plus a whiteboard.

"You ready, Castillo?" Emily asked Mariana. She nods and they leave the station. They were assigned to go to the crime scene together. She was enjoying the time spent with Emily. She was hot and funny. Win win.

"The body was found here, the hands were positioned on the stomachs. We think what happened was they were hit over the head then got stabbed in the stomach, and it was more concentrated at and around the uterus." One of the forensic experts told us.

Mariana and Emily looked at each other. "Did the bodies have any ligature marks around the wrists or ankles?" Mariana asked. "Nope, it seemed to be quick."

Emily and Mariana observe the walls that were now painted red. The once sand colored room was now a deep crimson color. Things like that were what made you question if this job was right for you. They further explored the house, checking the doors and windows.

"Thank you very much, sir." Mariana says, shaking the man's hand. Emily follows then we walk back to the SUV.

"I think it's a couple. The woman comes on unsuspecting, there was no signs of forced entry so she could've used a bribe about childcare or something of the sort. Then, she hits the woman right over the head. The man appears and stabs the woman to death." Mariana hypothesized. Emily looks at her, shocked and impressed.

"You got all that from a crime scene?" Emily asks. She nods her head, blushing slightly. "That's impressive as hell." She praises. "It's really nothing, when I worked on the forensics team I was solving the cases for the police whenever we were sent to check shit." She says.
