May 2024

I haven't spoken to Lando since the night of the Miami grand prix. I heard he was still partying until Tuesday morning (understandably so), but I flew home to Sacramento Monday morning. Since there was a week a half until I had to be in Imola, I decided to spend some time at home with Eli and my parents. We had a great couple days, all together for the first time in a while, but eventually I had to go back to London the next Monday for meetings at the office. As I dragged my suitcase into my apartment, my phone buzzed in my hand.

hi hi

are you in london?

amelia💫

hii yes i just got home :)

ria😇

ooo okok so basically idk if you know of lando's

company quadrant. but for the youtube channel me, max,

aarav, and our friend niran are doing a video

reacting to f1 funny/cool moments, specifically landos, as it's

his company but we thought it would be cool to have like an

an actual commentator in the video. So, would you like to

join? The shoot's on Wednesday, but absolutely no pressure!

amelia💫

omg i would love to

i have a meeting at until noon but i can after that!

ria😇

perf!

you'd be shooting with Max at like 1:30? Is that good?

amelia💫

yep thanks for inviting meee

After confirming the location and making sure I can go, I unpack my bags and go to bed.

On Wednesday, after my meeting with Kira about what I wanted to do with my career, I got dressed to go to the studio Ria sent me the location of. Kira knew I originally wanted to be a strategist for a team, but they weren't hiring when I applied. So, when I got my job with F1TV, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to gain experience to eventually work with a team on their strategy team. Kira informed me that I could work with Alex and Jolyon with the analysis rather than do all the journalist work, so I have strategy experience on my resume.

I only agreed to film with Quadrant because Lando would not be there. I haven't talked to him since Miami and I don't even know what I would say.

I put on a black hoodie and jeans, with my sambas. Upon driving to the studio after picking up some coffee, I waited in the car for a little bit, trying to calm the nerves. Sure, I've been on camera before. But people didn't watch this for information, they watched this for entertainment, which was a whole lot different.

When I realized it was too close to 1:30 to still stay in the car, I grabbed my stuff and headed inside. In the reception room, I saw Ash, Lando's videographer, and he directed me to the room everyone was in. Ria, Aarav, and Niran were filming still, so I quietly went down and sat next to Max on the couch, who smiled and waved.
