ECHOES OF TEARS

In the quiet of the night, I saw her there,

A person shedding tears, consumed by despair.

I approached her gently, asked why she cried,

Was it sorrow deep inside, or something else she tried to hide?

But she did not answer, only tears flowed,

From her eyes, flames of pain showed.

As I wondered if fear kept me away,

Her distant cries echoed; in the dark they did sway.

Questions continued, flames danced in her eyes,

Different shades of sorrow, anger, joy ties.

She looked at me, eyes dark and teary,

As tears fell, the sky was dreary.

No response came from her to me,

She pushed me away, set herself free.

But I needed to know, to understand her plight,

Tomorrow I'll return, ask again in the night.

To question again the person who sobbed,

And learn the reasons behind the tears she robbed.
