“You can’t walk me all the way home. My dad will be there and he’ll get mad.” I say. He looks at me like I have 2 heads.

“Well, then I guess I’ll tell you who I am now. The names’ Dallas Winston. But, you could call me dal or dally.” He says. He looks at me and smirks when he sees me blush.

“Well Dal, It was nice meeting you. I’ll see you at school tomorrow. But, I also wouldn’t mind you walking me to school in the morning. My dad won’t be home. Just ask Darry, Soda, and Pony. They’ll tell you.” I say. I hope he walks me tomorrow

“I’ll think about it, doll. I’ll see you later.” he says then walks away.

As I finish the walk to the house, I see dad’s car in the driveway and it isn’t parked right so I already know that he had a bad day at work. As I walk inside dad calls me.

“Y/N!!!!” dad yells. He sounds really really angry.

“Yes dad?” I ask. I already know what’s about to happen. He’s going to take his anger out on me.

Before I can even shut the door all the way, I feel a hard hit in the side of my stomach. Then another and another and another and another. I know he’s drunk so he won’t remember it tomorrow. He doesn’t normally hit me this much. Normally I can block it all out, but this time, I can’t. By the time he finishes I’m coughing up blood and can barely stand up. So I crawl to my room and shut and lock the door.

I wake up the next morning again, to the smell of bacon, eggs, pancakes, and waffles. It hurts to move but I get up and get dressed before I go downstairs. I go down stairs and see Dally, Darry, Soda, and Pony.

“Good Morning!!!!” I say my voice sounds hoarse but I try to sound happy.

“Morning. Are you ok?” Darry asks me.

“Yea. I’m fine. My throat just hurts a little bit.” I lie. I don’t want to lie to them, but they can’t know that when dad gets mad he takes his anger out on me.

“Are you ready to leave?” Dally asks me. He looks at me weirdly. I don’t know what he’s thinking right now, but it doesn’t look good.

“Yea. Sure.” I say. I grab my bookbag and put my shoes on and we leave.

We get to the top of the hill and Dally stops.

“What's wrong?” I ask. He looks weird right now. Nothing like he did yesterday.

“Show me.” He demands. I’m confused.

“Show you what?” I ask genuinely confused.

“Don’t act stupid Y/N, you know what I’m talking about. Now. Show. Me.” It hurts when he says that, but I know what he’s talking about now.

“Dally, I- I can’t.” I say. If he sees it, he’ll stop talking to me. It’s happened before.

“Yes. You. Can. Now show me. We’ll even go into an alleyway so no one else sees it but me.” He says. So, me being me, I walk into a dark alleyway with someone I just met, but I trust him? I don’t know why. But I do.

“Are you sure? I mean you could just act like none of this happened. And we can just finish the walk to school.” I say, trying to get out of having to show him the damage that dad did to me.

“Y/N. Show me. Now.” He says and this time, I do as told.

I lift my shirt up, thanking god that I have a bra on, and show him what dad did yesterday after he left me.

“Did he do that to you?!” He asks, sounding angry.

“Dal, I-” I don’t know what to say.

“Let’s go.” Dal says and walks past me.
