"Gha, dinner tayo mamaya?" Risa asked the woman in front of her who was having breakfast. Leni's face lit up as her partner was asking her for a date. "Sure gha, wala naman akong duty ngayon. I'll prepare dinner" Risa smiled and kissed her partner before she left to the senate.
Leni kept herself busy throughout the day. She cleaned the house, did the laundry and signed a few paperwork. When the sun was setting, she started to prepare dinner for her girl. She prepared the ingredients planning to cook a lot of food for their dinner. It was 6 pm and Risa would be home by now. Leni tried texting Risa but no response was received from the Senator.
Baka na lowbat lang pero pauwi na.
Few minutes have passed and no signs of Risa yet. So Leni covered the food she prepared and sat back on the couch of their living room. She checked her phone again but there was no notification in sight. She distracted herself by watching television, but she started to doze off as she felt the effects of working all day knocked her.
Risa rushed out of the senate as she checks the time. It was already 10 PM. She was held back all day by her colleagues as it was an unexpected day doing senate hearings. She cursed under her breath as she knew her girlfriend is disappointed at her.
"Manong pwede pakibilis? Patay ako sa girlfriend ko." Risa was sweating so bad that her driver smiled at her distress. "Sige po maam, ayaw nyo bumili ng bulaklak para lang bumawi kay ma'am?" The driver suggested making Risa nodded in response. "Saan ho ba pwede manong? Suyo tips naman po jan oh." The driver took a shortcut where they can buy flowers and is also close to the condo. "Paboritog bulaklak ni maam po bilhin nyo, tsaka lambingin mo po ng todo. Ganyan ginagawa ko po sa asawa ko kapag inaatake ng toyo." The driver joked making Risa smile a bit.
They stopped at a flower shop that happens to be open at night. Risa bought pink tulips and rushed back to the van. Soon enough they arrived at the condo. Risa thanked the driver and rushed to the elevator and was clicking it multiple times. She pressed every button of every elevator. And funnily at the same time all the elevators opened. "Bwisit lahat pala nasa ground." Risa entered the one in front of her and again clicking the floor multiple times.
She couldn't stay still and was getting frustrated. "Kasalanan talaga to nila Loren, dumagdag ng trabaho." Risa said outloud. Finally she reached the floor. She took her stilettos and ran for her life towards their unit. She grabbed her keys shakily to open the door. She was fidgeting the keys to open it but it was opened by Leni. There she was standing in front of her with dead tired eyes.
Risa was about to speak but Leni turned her back on Risa and walks to the dining room. She reheated the food she prepared without talking to Risa. On the other hand the woman collects courage to speak. Risa went close to Leni and showed her the bouquet of tulips which the other woman looked at it up and down judging the gift as if she's Miranda Priestly.
Risa was cursing at herself mentally, almost feeling that her hands are sweating. Leni didn't budge and continued to set the table. "Gha, talk to me please." Risa held on to Leni's waist. "Yoko nga. Bitawan mo ako." Leni replied coldy. However Risa didn't let go. She rests her head on Leni's shoulder and placed the bouquet on the chair beside them and wrapped her arms around her waist. "Di kita bibitawan hangga't di mo ako kakausapin."
"Bitaw oh, iiwan kita dito?" Leni fought back, which Risa couldn't find an answer. She doesn't want Leni to leave so she let go of her waist. She stood there stupidly not knowing what to do. Leni took the food out of the microwave and placed it on the table. "Kain kana jan matutulog na ako." Even though they were not good with each other, Leni still cares for Risa and she knew the woman hadn't had dinner.
Risa heaved a sighed. Leni passed by her but Risa grabbed her wrist and pulled Leni towards her and smashed her lips onto hers. Leni was shocked and tried to push Risa away but Risa wrapped her arms again on her waist. They made out for a few minutes. Leni was startled, "Ris ano b-" again Risa smashed her lips on Leni's.
Risa stopped and buried her face on Leni's neck. "I'm so sorry pangga, please don't be mad na, I have a day off tomorrow. Babawi ako bukas." Risa felt like crying. She can't bear that Leni isn't talking to her and is even mad at her. Still Leni didn't budge and just continued to stare at the woman in front of her. Risa couldn't help but released a few tears. Leni felt her tears on her neck. "Sa susunod wag ka mag promise kung hindi mo naman kayang tuparin." Risa's face lit up and stared at Leni kept a straight face.
"You forgive me na?" Tears continue to flow on Risa's cheek as she waits for the woman in front of her to respond. "Oo na, para kang bata jan." And again Risa kissed Leni happily while the other woman rolled her eyes but kissed back. "Promise bawi ako bukas, hehe." Leni was somehow suspicious.
"Alam ko binabalak mo, Ris. Tigilan moko." Risa laughed at Leni's response, she knows her too well. "Ok fine, Ako na magluluto ng dinner."
"Labas nalang tayo, baka ma food poison pa ako." Leni teased earning a glare from Risa. "Joke lang, eto naman. Tutulungan na kita bukas." Leni wiped Risa's tears and assisted her to sit on the chair. The pair enjoyed their somehow late dinner with conversations on how their days went.
