"They're not in favor mahal." Risa uttered as she stared blankly at Leni who was in front of her sitting on the sofa in her office. "So, hanggang dito na lang ba tayo Ris?" Leni asks and stared back at Risa fighting her urge to cry. But it was audible as her voice was quivery. Risa confronted her kids regarding hers and Leni's relationship. They were not in favor however of their mother having a relationship.
Leni's kids didn't like the idea but however accepted it for the sake of their mother. Risa's children didn't had the same reaction. "Can't we really make this work mahal?" Risa asked with a trembling voice, earning a loud sigh from Leni. "Risa, I don't want to be the cause of ruining your relationship with your kids. Anak mo sila." Leni answered and a tear slipped out of her eyes. Risa saw it and hurts her to see her fragile but she couldn't do anything. She, herself is the cause why Leni is hurting.
"So this is it? You're not going to fight for us Leni?" Risa sobbed. Leni looked at her with pity. "I did fight for you Ris, pero victory wasn't destined for this lifetime." Risa couldn't hold back her tears and sobbed violently. Leni wanted to hug her but she knows she'll long for her even more.
"Always know that I love you. And I am thankful to be a part of your life Ris. Huwag mo pababayaan sarili mo and take care of your kids." Leni said as she stood up from the sofa. Risa rushed to her and grabbed her wrists pulling Leni towards her for a hug.
"Wag mo ko iwan Leni please. Please, I just need to convince them more para-"
"Risa, stop. Masisira ang relasyon mo sa mga bata. I have to go Ris, para sa ikabubuti natin." Leni pushed Risa gently away making the taller woman cry harder. "I will still be by your side senator, but not as your girlfriend." Leni gave a painful smile and kissed the back of Risa's hand.
"One last kiss please, pangga" Risa requested. Leni held Risa's cheeks and guided her to her lips. It lasted for a minute but for them it was lifetime. They break from the kiss and Leni bid farewell. "i will always love you Ris, baka sa susunod na buhay ay tayo magtagpo." Leni said and exited Risa's office. On her way out she saw Risa's tres marias who probably were listening to their conversations. She didn't react but she gave them a smile. "Take care of your mama always." Leni said and the three girls bowed their heads down. Leni immediately left and Risa's three daughters stared at each other before they saw their mother who was kneeling on the floor sobbing her heart out.
Leni arrived at her condo and was greeted by her own tres marias, however her daughters noticed the pain and sorrow in their mother's eyes. "Ma anong nangyare?" Tricia asked worriedly as they rushed to their mom. Leni broke down and cried in front of her daughters. It was a first for them to see their mother like this. When their father died Leni was holding back her tears trying to look resilient for her daughters but this time was different and it affected Leni so much.
Her daughters comforted her as they wait for her to calm down and asked what was the reason why she is crying. Jill had a thought it has something to do with her Tita Sen. "Ma, nag away po ba kayo ni tita sen?" Jill asked her mother which made her mother sob even more.
The three already got their answer based on their mother's actions and emotion. "Andito lang po kami mama." Aika said as they hugged Leni.
A year has passed and all came back to normal. Leni is busy managing Angat Buhay, while Risa is busy fighting corruption. It was almost campaign season for the 2025 senate election.
"Madam, may bisita po kayo. Si Sen Kiko po." Rona informed Leni from outside of her office. "Papasukin mo Ron, salamat." Not long enough Kiko entered and saw his friend who's busy signing papers here and there.
"Sen, what brings you here?" Leni asked as she set her papers aside and made eye contact with Kiko. "Maka Sen to kala mo di kaibigan eh." Kiko scratched the back of his neck and Leni laughed. "Just being professional lang naman, pero bakit ka nga nandito?" Leni asked again and offered Kiko to seat in a chair in front of her. "Well, I guess you might know why I came here." Kiko said and Leni made a look.
"Are you asking me to run for Senator?" Kiko gave her a smile, saying she got the message on why he came here. " as much as I want to Kiko, I already decided to run for mayor sa Naga."
Kiko gave her a suspicious look. "Or in other words, may iniiwasan ka." Leni fumbled with her pen and avoided eye contact with Kiko. "Sabi na nga ba, anyways yun lang naman ang pinunta ko dito. Gusto kasi ng party tumakbo ka kasi may mataas na chance na ikaw mananalo." Kiko stood up as well as Leni.
"I already made up my mind Kiks, Alagaan niyo siya ng maayos. Besides andyan naman kayo nila Chel at Bam." Leni said and gave a smile. She crossed her arms embracing herself. "If that's what you want Lens, I best be going na. Ingat ka lagi ah?" Kiko bid farewell.
"Ingat ka din Sen." Leni said as he bid farewell to Kiko and watched him disappear from her sight.
"Mga kababayan, nais kong ipakilala sainyo, Ang magiging kasama ko sa Senado. Dean Chel Diokno, Kiko Pangilinan at Bam Aquino. Ang ating CheKiBam." Risa introduced the three running for senator. The audience applauded with happiness as hope filled the air again.
"Si Atty. Leni naka dnd mode na naman." One person screamed making the four laugh. "Hayaan niyo si Attorney. She is busy preparing to run for mayor of Naga." Bam said. Some were happy, some were disappointed, especially Risa. She felt a hand on her back. It was Kiko. "She is proud of you." He uttered.
"Senator Risa, ipinakilala ang kaniyang top 3 para sa 2025 senatorial elections..."
The sound of the television echoes throughout the room. Leni watched as she saw the quadro on the news. A smile formed on her lips. She took her phone out and took a picture and posted it on her socials soon after looked for a specific contact
