Why do you cry,

When someone you love, dies?

You shed glass tears,

As what lays in front you,

Reveals your greatest fears,

Your muscles fail you as you fall,

And your body begins to brawl,

It trembles with no control,

While you grieve what is now gone,

You crumble to the ground,

And swear to honor their last vows,

You'll write a million words,

Knowing they still won't be enough,

You recall what once was,

And fear what will be,

Now that you realize,

That something died by their side,

A piece of your pride,

And fury, and joy, and delight,

You'll miss them,

At least that's what you say,

Knowing you sound dumb,

Because what you'll miss is something like that day,

When they made you spill your drink,

And still manage to choke a laugh out of your state,

You'll miss what they made you feel,

And be unable to describe it with ink,

You'll be forced to bury it in a crate,

And for some time your heart will feel like its made of steel,

But trust me when I say,

You'll find someone else with the same appeal,

So even if the memory may weigh,

Cry for them today,

Cause tomorrow'll be a completely different day.
