You've had better days,

So do me a favor,

And remind yourself this,

Cause there's something inside you,

That feels wrong in some way,

Something no hands will ever fix,

Something that doesn't really exist,

So take my word,

And put the blade down,

Look deep inside and see,

The kid that hosts a frown,

He's sitting on his knees,

Your shirt looks big on him,

He's curious as he stares at you,

There, standing too close to the brim,

You always wanted to have kids,

With that one school girl,

The one of which you used to dream,

The same one that made you grin,

You wanted to be a lawyer,

So that you'd speak for the trees,

And the animals living on their leaves,

You wanted to visit Paris,

See for yourself what its streets had,

And try a traditional croissant,

You wanted to have a dog,

To never go another day alone,

His name would've been Todd,

You wanted to die old,

Overwhelmed with love,

Warm under a blanket, never cold,

You still want that,

In the core of your heart,

But there and that way it stays,

As a 'want',

Never seeing the light.
