The days following the defeat of the Shadow Lord were filled with a flurry of activity and celebration. The academy held a grand feast in honor of Alex, Talia, and Orion, where they were lauded as heroes. However, amid the revelry, an uneasy feeling lingered in Alex's mind.

It was late at night, and the academy was finally quiet. Alex lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to shake the sense that something was still amiss. The Heart of Eldoria pulsed faintly on his bedside table, its gentle glow a reminder of their victory but also a symbol of the power they had yet to fully understand.

"Can't sleep?" Orion's voice broke the silence. He was sitting by the window, looking out into the darkened courtyard.

"Not really," Alex admitted, sitting up. "I just have this feeling that it's not over. Like there's something we're missing."

Orion nodded thoughtfully. "I've been thinking the same thing. The Shadow Lord was powerful, but the way he dissolved... it felt too easy, almost like he wanted us to think he was gone."

"Or like he was a distraction," Talia added, stepping into the room with a steaming cup of tea. "I've been doing some reading, and I found something strange in the chronicles."

She handed them an old book, its pages yellowed with age. "It mentions a ritual of binding, a way to tie a powerful entity to a physical object. If the Shadow Lord used this ritual, he could still be out there, bound to something—or someone—we haven't found yet."

Alex felt a chill run down his spine. "If that's true, we need to find out what he's bound to and destroy it before he regains his strength."

The trio spent the next few days scouring the library, looking for any references to the ritual. Their search led them to an ancient, dusty tome hidden behind a false wall. The cover was embossed with strange symbols that glowed faintly under the light of their wands.

"This must be it," Talia whispered, her eyes wide with excitement and trepidation.

They opened the book and began to read. The ritual was described in detail, revealing that it required a dark artifact known as the Obsidian Mirror. This mirror could trap a soul, allowing it to interact with the physical world but keeping it bound to the mirror's surface.

"If the Shadow Lord is bound to this mirror, he could be anywhere," Orion said, his voice tense. "We need to find it and destroy it before he gathers enough power to break free."

Their search for the Obsidian Mirror led them to the academy's restricted archives, a place few had ever ventured. With Eryndor's permission and Lady Seraphine's guidance, they descended into the depths of the academy, where the air grew cold and the walls seemed to whisper with the secrets of ages past.

The archives were a labyrinth of ancient scrolls, forbidden books, and relics of immense power. The trio moved cautiously, their wands illuminating the narrow passages.

"We're looking for anything that mentions the Obsidian Mirror," Lady Seraphine said, her voice echoing softly in the dim light. "Be careful. Many of these artifacts are dangerous, even to those with the best intentions."

Hours passed as they combed through the archives. Just as they began to lose hope, Talia found an old map hidden in a dusty chest. It detailed a hidden chamber beneath the academy, marked with the symbol of a mirror.

"This has to be it," Talia said, her voice trembling with excitement.

They followed the map to a concealed door at the back of the archives. With a wave of Lady Seraphine's wand, the door creaked open, revealing a narrow staircase leading down into darkness.
