Izuku remembered the day it happened. He was young and sitting in the living room. His mother was cooking something in the kitchen as the TV played on.
It was a coincidence that he looked up when he did, that he saw what he saw. Whatever may have caused it, fate, luck or anything else, Izuku couldn't take his eyes away from the screen. It was the gold medal routine, the one that secured the athlete's victory.
He swung around the high bars, flying through the air. The crowds were cheering and the second he did the complicated release, he began to as well. He knew he had won.
"Izuku, time for dinner," Inko called out as she walked in.
Izuku ran up to her, pointing at the TV. "What's that?"
Inko looked up, a soft smile on her face. "That's gymnastics."
"Gymnastics," Izuku laughed as Inko put the bowl down. The sport never left Izuku. After a couple weeks of watching her son look up everything he could online, Inko finally took him to a class.
"Welcome," the instructor greeted, pulling aside Inko to talk to her about everything she needed to know.
Izuku looked at the other kids. Most were older but there were a couple his age. "Hi," he greeted, making them turn around.
One was a tall boy with bright pink hair, he wore a giant grin. "Hello!" The other nodded from the boy's side. She was small and had short blue hair. "Are you new here? So is Kichi." The boy patted the girl's shoulder as she squeaked.
"No, I'm not! I'm very experienced!" She raised her head as Izuku walked closer with a laugh. "What's so funny? Why are you even here?"
Izuku beamed as he talked about the Olympics and the athletes he saw. Kichi and the boy both gasped as the boy grabbed Izuku's hand. "Are you talking about All Might?"
"All Might?"
Kichi snickered. "It's what everyone calls him. He's the best athlete in the world. He got the nickname when he went to the Olympics about 10 years ago and got a gold medal in every gymnastics event. It was unheard of!"
Izuku gasped. "That's so cool."
"Isn't it," the others agreed before the boy laughed. "I'm Shuzo Takahashi and this is Kichi Yoshikawa."
"Izuku Midoriya."
The group smiled when the instructor called them over, beginning the day of training.

Katsuki Bakugo scoffed as he saw Izuku. "I heard you're picking up gymnastics. You a girl now?"
Izuku smiled. "At least my sport actually requires skill and physical ability, unlike yours."
Katsuki blinked in surprise. "When the fuck did you get an attitude."
Kichi was proud when she heard the story and decided Izuku had absorbed her teachings well.
