⠀⠀⠀⠀THE WEATHER ON SEATTLE wasn't Briana's favorite. She had to buy an umbrella the second she landed because it was pouring outside. Additionally, the fact that Valentina was sick didn't make things easier during the trip, and she began to wonder if coming here was really a good idea.
Briana thanked the taxi driver before stepping out of the car. With her daughter in her arms, she looked up to see the hospital in front of her. Something didn't feel right, as if the air was trying to warn her of what was happening. The hospital seemed calm, as soon as she entered, she saw people walking to different places and her eyes couldn't help but search for any sign of her husband. Her gaze fell on a familiar figure, and she couldn't help but feel her heart slowly breaking as she observed what was unfolding just meters away.
Derek was standing there, and normally, that would have made her happy. But the fact that he was adjusting another woman's coat seemed to shatter any hope she had. It appeared mundane, almost routine, but the glances exchanged between her husband and the woman were enough to pierce deep within her. Briana knew what was happening; she couldn't be entirely sure, but she sensed that it was more than it should.
As soon as Briana started walking to their way, Derek seemed to finally recognize his wife. HIs expression turned confused, mixed with regret and fear. He glanced slightly towards Meedith, whispering an apology that she still didn't understand.
"Briana," Derek spoke slowly as she stopped in front of the couple, her daughter in her arms seemingly unaware of the situation. "What... what are you doing here?"
Briana tried to not show the pain settling within her. Her gaze shifted from Derek to Meredith as she held out her hand to her. "Hello, I'm Briana Shepherd."
"Shepherd?" Meredith repeated, still not fully connecting the dots about who she was to Derek.
"And you must be the woman who's been screwing my husband," Briana replied firmly and indifferently, masking her true feelings under a false smile.
