IZUKU:
90% of the human population is born with something called a quirk. Quirks are superpowers and because of these superpowers, heroes and villains were born. You get a quirk when you reach the prime age of four and those who do not get a quirk usually never do. I was unfortunate enough to find this out when my parents took me to the quirk doctor to see what quirk I would develop. They ran all sorts of tests, even an IQ test which turns out I just had a freakishly high IQ and obsession for heroes, villains, and quirks. I was devastated to learn the news since I had wanted to be a hero like the greatest hero in our time, All Might. When we got back in the car I felt an immense tension between my mother and father. I knew why, my father was obsessed with quirks and he always said the more powerful the better. Me being quirkless was not good because as soon as we pulled into the drive way he broke out in a fit of rage towards me and my mother.

The next morning mom and I went to talk to my childhood friend and his mom. Our moms talked about me and what my mom should do now while Kacchan and I looked for bugs. "So what quirk did you get?" He asked expecting me to say something strong. "I-I didn't get one." I said sadly. He looked at me then some sort of twisted spark went through his eyes. "From today on your nickname will be Deku." He said smugly. "Kacchan, that's sorta mean..." I said and he laughed. "Well you don't have a quirk so I think the name fits you perfectly." He said then continued to walk over a muddy bridge. He slipped and fell into the water from the creek that ran below it. I got in the water and offered my hand to him, "Kacchan are you okay?" I asked worried about my friend. He looked at me in disgust then slapped my hand away. "I Don't need your help Deku!" He said getting up and walking over to the bank of the creek.

The rest of the walk back to the playground was silent between me and him. I thought it would get better as I grew older but with my luck, things got even worse. I was now in my second year of middle school and the bullying from Kacchan became Physical to the point I'd go home with first and second degree burns, black eyes, the occasional broken arm, etc. the teachers at school would often join in with the verbal bullying so asking them for help was off limits. What none of them knew was that it was just as bad at home if not worse. My mom was scared of my dad and his rages, she knew my father wanted me to be his punching bag so when she'd defend me, she'd get beat too. After I turned eight my mom stopped sneaking food into my room for me and I had to scavenge the trashes of local restaurants for food. I had decided to train myself physically so I could handle the impact of the blows from my peers better but while I became stronger my stomach became weaker. I was down to eating the equivalent of a small slice of bread every two days because I couldn't keep food down.

Today was no different from the usual bullies however Kacchan was much crueler today. It was after he said for me to "take a swan dive off the roof and pray for a quirk in my next life" that I remembered today was my birthday. I chuckled lifelessly at the thought. I limped home from school through the bullying and as I was walking, I was attacked by a sludge villain. I remembered the notebooks I had written and remembered that this villain is weak to electricity and Ice. The only physical attack that could possibly buy me enough time to run was a jab to the eye but my hands were bind. I thought about how I was useless in this situation and then I was saved by none other than all might. He caught the villain and was about to jump away until I latched onto his leg. He noticed as we were already in the air then he landed on a building roof top so I could get off safely. "That was reckless kid! What were you thinking?" He asked furious at my behavior. I flinched but then I asked the question I had been wanting to ask since I was four. "Can someone without a quirk be a hero as great as you?!" I asked.

"No. Give up, if you want to help people, become a police officer." He said then jumped away leaving me to my demons on the rooftop where I would return. I made my way down the stairs of the building and finally reached the ground. I walked through the streets once more and back to my apartment where I knew I'd get the beating of a lifetime for being home late. When I walked in however, I found my mother on the floor bleeding and unconscious. I cried out to her but got no response and as I was about to check on her, I was picked up by the throat of my Father. "Get out." He said with venom to me and I glared at him with tears in my eyes. He threw me outside the apartment and I banged on the door to be let in. I then ran for the police station knowing my mother was in danger and begged for their help. They mobilized immediately but when they arrived it was too late, my mother was dead and my father was in handcuffs.

I fell to my knees and cried then remembered everything everyone had said. I then remembered Kacchan's words and pulled myself up. I made my way to the building where All might shattered my hopes and dreams then made my way up to the rooftop. It was dark out now so no one would even notice, not that they'd notice if I was gone anyway... I thought then jumped. I hit the ground with a resounding crack and splat but I was surprised because despite the 40 story fall, the blood loss, and crack, I was still alive. I don't know why but I got up immediately after the fall and found all the wounds I received healing rapidly. My eyes widen in realization. "I have a quirk?!" I was happy for a spilt second but my joy faded as soon as I realized that 1, my quirk was useless, and 2, I now had nowhere to go.
