"Perfect."

I'm really starting to like Yaz, today as we were throwing all the extra wood out of the treehouse that was now completed, she found my sketchbook! She asked to look through my drawings, I let her reluctantly, and she complimented all of them, she then handed me one of her many pencils and suggested we look at each other's art and draw together some time, I nodded.

I sit on top of my bed, looking at the trees ahead whilst on top of our newly built bunker, up in the trees, not the exact treehouse you'd want as a kid, but it was good enough.

The new shower door creaked open as Kenji entered with a pair of shorts. "Yagh!" I hear him yell. "Does this water ever get warm?!" Darius just chuckles as he writes in his new notebook on the couch.

"Five more minutes." Brooklynn mumbled as she tossed and turned in the camp mattresses, some of her hair dye had faded, leaving the front of her hair a dark brown.

Yaz slowly walked slowly down our makeshift stairs-wood crates- walking past Sammy as she tried to open a can of fruit, she grabs a dino tooth we picked up and walks towards camp chalkboard, Sammy drops the can, and it lands by her feet.

"Sorry Yaz!" She apologized. "It's cool." She responds, using the tooth to draw a line. "And another one." I look at the chalk board, four crossed out lines and two fresh ones, twenty-two days of torture and terror.

She sits down on the couch next to Darius and sighs, I close my sketchbook and walk down by them, I offer Yaz her pencil, but she shakes her head, I pocket it.

A water bottle thumps as Kenji throws it at the table in front of the couch. "No mas agua, a little help." He calls from the shower.

"I got you Kenj." Darius says as he gets up.

"If you keep doing that for him, he's never gonna learn to do it for himself." Yaz tells him, I make a noise in agreement. Darius just shrugs and goes down our slide that we made out of wood so we can go down our treehouse quicker.

"Uh, guys!" He calls a few seconds later. We all rush down the slide.

We stand next to him by the stream-or what was a stream, what used to be water was replaced by dirt and rocks.

"Where'd all the water go?" Sammy asked.

"Why don't we ask Mr 45-minute shower guy?" I say as Kenji walks up to us.

"Hey looking good is part of my brand, ain't no way I drained a whole river." He counters.

Darius turns to us and we all huddle in a circle, Brooklynn hopping out for some reason. "Guys, we gotta figure out what's up or we're gonna run out of water. Let's"- Brooklynn cuts him off by shushing him, loudly, he turns to her, offended. "Listen!" She says. We stay silent but hear nothing.

"I hear that hum again." She tells us. We all groan, I have also heard the hum, but she was nonstop about it.

"The river must've been drowning it out, if I follow it I can find the"- "Frozen patch of flowers" We say for her. She crosses her arms shyly.
