February 25th.
After almost a month, Ivy keeps to herself despite Caroline's pleas. She tells herself she is doing it for her friends, but she doesn't believe that lie.
Now, she sits in her apartment, getting ready for some stupid celebration of Mystic Falls. If you asked her, she would say that all the ways the town celebrates itself should be illegal.
Her phone rings, signaling the 27th time Caroline has called her in just the past 48 hours. This time, she reluctantly answers, "Hello."
On the other end, Caroline let out an exasperated sigh before calmly speaking, "Thank you for finally answering. Now," she raised her voice, "why the hell have you been ignoring us?!"
Hearing her friend so upset, Ivy felt a rush of disappointment in herself. She hated it when people were upset with her. Despite this, she stood her ground.
"I was keeping my distance for your safety. If anyone finds out, you would both be in danger. I shouldn't have gotten close with you in the first place."
Caroline was almost speechless and looked at the boy beside her, silently asking for help.
He shook his head, unsure of what to say.
Before either could respond, the witch said, "Doing the parade today is it. I'm not going to be around you if I don't need to." She hung up, not allowing a response.
Caroline instantly teared up, dropping her phone into her lap in defeat.
Alex stared at the black screen, shocked at what had just happened.
"What?"
"She's done with us."

A couple of hours later, Ivy stands next to the float for Mystic Falls Court dressed as the founders would have. She thought it was stupid.
Once the entire court was near the float, they started preparing for the parade. She avoided the desperate eyes of her best friend. Former best friend.
Alex stood beside her as required, "Please don't do this."
Not looking back at him, she responds indifferently, "I have to."
Before he could argue back, the float started moving.
She forced a smile and waved at the spectators. She received a smirk from Damon Salvatore and a tight-lipped smile from Bonnie.
