After some old-fashioned stress cleaning, the teenage witch took a shower and got ready for the carnival.

The sky was turning navy blue while stars became visible. Once ready, Ivy made a quick drive to the hospital. She hoped to see Caroline and apologize for not showing up sooner, but the blonde was nowhere to be found, and a nearby doctor informed Ivy her friend was discharged. She debated calling either of her friends but figured they were probably at the carnival.

After making the short drive from the hospital to the carnival and searching for shitty parking, Ivy was able to park and head toward the lights and music. The sounds of a fight disrupted her peaceful walk. This urged her to walk faster, but she saw a somewhat unexpected sight.

Mason Lockwood was fighting a carny and with golden eyes, no less. The teenager hated herself for finding it attractive. She has a type and a history with wolf boys. What? She's just a girl. It could be worse. She could find John Gilbert attractive.

Before she could intervene and make her presence known, an arm wrapped around her waist covered her mouth and quickly sped her away.

Once they were at a standstill, Ivy turned around and began hitting the vampire that grabbed her.

Stefan quickly took hold of her wrists, preventing her from hitting him again, "Hey- Calm down."

"What, the actual fuck, was that?" Ivy cursed, giving the vampire a harsh glare.

"Just," Stefan sighed, "Just hold on a second." He returned to the guy the Lockwoods were fighting, leaving Ivy awkwardly standing there.

The impatient witch rolled her eyes and continued to the fair. She had friends to find and apologize to. She walked around for a while before seeing Matt Donovan staring after a certain blonde.  She made a beeline to him, hoping he also knew Alex's whereabouts. "Matt? Is Caroline okay? Where's she going?"

The football player jumped at the sudden appearance of his girlfriend's friend, "Oh- hey. I don't know. She's been acting weird all day. Maybe you can find out why."

Ivy nodded in understanding, "Stress of almost dying will do that to ya," she quipped, "By the way, do you know where Alex is?"

Matt shook his head in response, "Maybe Caroline does, though."

She gave him a small smile before walking in the same direction the blonde went. She walked for a while before being harshly grabbed by Stefan Salvatore and pulled behind a game booth.

"Dude. You and your brother need to stop with the manhandling."

"Caroline's a vampire."

The teasing smile dropped, "What?"

Elena, who was right behind her boyfriend, chimed in, "Damon wants to kill her; we need to find her."

Ivy felt like walls were closing in on her, her hand clasped at her throat. Trying to reason with herself, she shook her head in disbelief.

"No... I was careful..."

"If Damon finds her first-"

She interrupted Elena while a dangerous look settled in her eyes, "His days are numbered if he touches a single hair on her head," she clenched her jaw, "I saw her go this way a little bit ago."

She continued on her original path, focusing on finding Caroline. She didn't bother to check if the couple followed her. Anger was all she felt at herself for not being there, at whoever killed her friend, and at Damon for trying to kill her again.

In her distracted state, she didn't notice Alex walking towards her, seemingly on a mission.

"Ivy!"

"Lex, now is not the time-"

"-It's Caroline."

Her eyes snapped to his, "Where."

The boy grabbed her hand and began dragging her towards their friend, who was about to be staked by the older Salvatore brother.

Ivy ran forward and used her magic to rip the stake from his hand, "Hands off!"

Damon groaned in response, "Come on, she's a time bomb. I'm trying to put her out of her misery. You're next. Wait your turn."

Alex ran forward, grabbed the blonde, and started pulling her away to safety. Damon saw this and flashed forward, only to be stopped by the arrival of his brother and Elena.

"Enough, Damon. You're not killing anyone."

"I beg to differ-"

Ivy, tired of the arrogant vampire, wrapped violet tendrils around his neck and twisted her hand, causing them to snap his neck. She watched him fall to the ground with a slight smile.

"I was trying to be his friend. He should have listened."

Bonnie stood to the side, horrified by the sight before her. She approached the body of the carny she was interested in before slowly turning to Damon's now unconscious body with a harsh glare.

Ivy turned around, her eyes settling on a very bloody blonde who was horrified at her actions. She, Stefan, and Alex ushered her friend away to clean her up.

Amidst the chaos, no one saw a pair of hazel eyes watching them from a distance.
