POV:River
"Why can't you let me drive?" Keiran groaned in the backseat with my brother Klay beside him.
"Because," My mate had her hand inlocked with mine as I played with them.
"Because what?" Keiran banged his head backward in his seat with a groan.
"Because I said so," Keirra laughed out her soothing laughter I love so much. "And you are a tiny pup"
"Bruh," Kieran let out making Klay chuckle. "I'm 16"
"Like I said," Keirra shrugged bringing our hands to her lips and pecking it.I looked out the window seeing trees pass us by in a blur trying to hide my blushing but I knew she could hear my heartbeat.
"This is so unfair, and you are too pale to drive. You will literally blind them with your whiteness," Kieran scuffed out making me bite my lips to not laugh but a giggle slipped out while Klay didn't even bother to hide it.
"Baby," She gasped at me. "I'm not pale," She caused me to turn around to see her pouting pillowy lips as she looked at the road but every now and then glaring at Keiran from the car window.
"No you are not, you're my perfect mate," I reached towards her and gave her a long-lasting peck on the cheek before returning to my seat ignoring all the ewws from our brothers.
Her cheek heated up with a deep blush glancing at me before going back with a shit-eating grin.
Perfect doesn't do her any justice, She has onyx hair stopping at her mid-arm, her eye color is deep grayish, it's like staring at a fog and getting lost but never wanting to leave because of the embrace it holds, and her body, don't even get me started on her muscular body.
Training for years made that happen, she has feminine clothes so it's like she's both.
I can never get over her much hold she has on me despite how many years we have been together.
"Yeah, she is. Don't lie to the pale ghost," Kieran interjected. "For being half Mexican and some Cuban too, both Klay and River are tanner than you," He pointed at us.
I like the sun but my poor mate gets orange if she baskets in it for too long. I love how reactive her body is though.
"Why don't you worry about the fact that you are a 16-year-old without a car to drive around?" Keirra mocked. "I'll leave you in the middle of the street, then we'll see who becomes the real ghost," She's so perfect.
"Papan will whoop you and then make Sire do it too," Kieran crossed his arms while muttering to himself and Klay.
"Did you have a nice run mate?" I stopped her from talking back again and softly looked up at me for a moment. Her eyes will be my doom.
"I missed you during it," She began to pout again as she pulled into Crimson Creek high parking lot trying to find an available one.
I could hear and see from my side profile that many humans, wolves, and other beings getting out and talking with each other. Some are in small groups circles and others in bigger ones. It's our senior year and last year of school, I'm not quite sure how to feel about it. All I do know is that I'll be in it with my mate.
"I know My baby," I saw the blush creeping in on her neck now. So cute. "I missed you too" I really did and usually like in the summer I went it on with her and our wolves could have fun together and play around like pups, but I needed extra time to get ready for school.
I'm not practically a morning person and she is one. She's way too happy in the mornings and while I love it, I like the quiet in the mornings at least until I've drunk my morning brown tea.
"Was there always this many people?" Klay gulped as he stared out while Keirra finally found a parking spot not too far away.
My brother is nervous about crowds but oddly he isn't when he gets used to them.
"It's okay, I'll protect you," Kieran grinned at him.
"With your spaghetti arms?" Keirra shot with a snicker earning a glare from Kieran.
"Stop it," I rolled my eyes at them with a smile. "You'll be fine Klay, in a maximum of 2 days you'll be used to it" I reassured him getting a hesitant nod back making one of his red curls hit his nose which Kieran was fast on sliding back.
Keirra stopped the car and turned the engine off, she took out the keys and put them in her pocket, she kissed me on our inlaced hands and let go as she ran out with Kieran doing the same.
I chuckled, a small heat creeping in. She soon came to my side and opened the door for me with her hand out.
We always compete on who opens the door for who and she just happens to be first today. When we get home I'll do it.
"You are on," I grabbed her hand and slipped out causing a sheepish smile on her face.
"I have no idea what you are talking about, I'm just being a gentlewoman to her mate," She closed the car door and locked it. Our brothers were walking slightly beside us as we walked shoulder to shoulder.
"Sure my short mate," I giggled as she whipped her head to me squeezing my hand.
"It's just 1 inch," She huffed, 1 inch that I'm winning on.
"Dude, my moms almost found my weed," Rowan sneaked up behind us. He had his backpack which I'm sure doesn't have any school stuff in it over his left shoulder.
Rowan is a part of our pack. He just doesn't live at the pack house.
"Kids Rowan, there are kids here," I rolled my eyes at him although those kids were only focused on each other.
"He's too high to understand what that means," I turned my neck to look beside my mate to see Disha in her cheer uniform she doesn't really have to wear this early facing forward.
"When did you get here?" My mate slightly shrieked but fixed herself and ignored my snickers.
"I'm always here, wherever you go," Disha put on some lipstick. She's also one of our pack members but she is half-wolf, so she doesn't necessarily live or have a household in our pack.
"That's not mildly disturbing at all," it really isn't for Disha. If it were anyone other saying this my mind would be different but Disha and My Kierra are close. They have known each other since they were pups.
"Wait... Disha is here?" Rowan looked around as he stood beside me. I know his eyes reached her but he doesn't. How he can be high on the first and last first day of school is beyond me.
"This is going to be a really fun school year," Keirra giggled as we entered the massive building.
Author's note;
Sup y'all, I have like 20 chapters of this book but updating once a week is the best according to Google 🤷🏾♀️
Anyhowwwwwww, I've put "Happy Ending?" In the wattys and some of you can maybe see that I've put it in a book series intended.
To be honest, I have no idea, this is the first time I'm in some competition so don't be coming for me😭
Back to the point though, I have 70 chapters written for "Happy Ending?" It just needs some serious editing and I was planning on relishing it in the same book so it could be longer but I guess a sequel is in order🤭
Now a fun fact-actually this one isn't that fun, did you know that only 20% of people wash their hands every time after using the toilet?
Now I'm not sure if it's just in America or the whole world and while I would check it for y'all, I'm....I just don't wanna😔
Happy reading my darlings!
