I woke up on a white and black swirled marble floor. A white fireplace with a silver fire sat a couple feet away. Two stylish, antique chairs were in front of it and on the other side of me. They had black frames with snow white cushions. A matching chaise lounge was between them. A black end table sat on one side with an engraved silver pitcher holding a dozen blood red roses.
I stood and glanced around.

"Hello there, dear Celestia," a light, chilly voice greeted me. I turned to the chaise. There, a young woman with a flowing black dress lay across it. She had thick curling black hair with silver and white stripes. Her gold eyes watched me curiously.

"Who are you," I asked. Her scent of dead roses, tears, and a hint of something else swirled around me like smoke. She laughed. It sounded like a high pitch church bell.

"Oh, my dear, I thought that was obvious," she said with a smile, her golden eyes glowing. "I'm Death."

"Shit! I'm dead?"

"Close enough to see me. I just have some information to share about your silver wolf."

"What," I queried, half scared out of my wits.

"Well, you're mine, my dear."

"What," I exclaimed.

"You're mine. One of my little angels sent to turn the tides of an age old war. That's why you sport the color silver, a little bit of good and bad, which describes death pretty well. Anyhow, I put you in there to fight."

"Death's angels. One of the girls mentioned them once. Said they'd been gone a while. Fight who? What war?"

"The rogue alpha who wants to unite his forces with those of the vampires and end the good werewolven rule. You must kill him."

"What about my friends and my... mates?"

"That's up to you. I can't tell you what is to come, but each choice you have made will make could mean the difference between the life and death of someone you love. You must be strong, my dear." She rose and walked over to me. Death's hand brushed my hair as she smiled. "Be strong and remember that you are my champion."

She sat back down on the chaise. The scene started to fade. "One more thing," she called. "You might experience some strange powers popping up. Practice makes perfect! Bye bye, dear!"

My eyes peeled open one at a time. I was in a big bed with a deep blue comforter. The large room was neat with a bookshelf and three white doors. An arm was thrown over my waist. I yelped sitting straight up and knocked the other person out of the bed. Caleb popped up a minute later with dark eyes growling.

"Caleb! What the hell?" He kept growling.

"Stop that! I'm fine." The growling cut off her looked at me.

"Mate," his wolf's deep voice said to me. It made a shiver crawl up my back. Okay, we were dealing with him then.

"Yea, so what?"

He climbed on the bed and wrapped me in a hug, sniffing me.

"Mate. Safe. Good. Lost. Scared. Sorry."

"It's okay," I replied, rubbing his back. "Sakura and I aren't mad about dying. You couldn't have done anything. Anyways, it was... enlightening. As for the bullying and rejection, Caleb will grovel until the very end." He lets out a wolfy chuckle. Then he stopped and his arms tightened.

"Ashe?"

"I don't know about him. Or anything. Death told me I have to kill the rogue alpha. Who killed my parents and is trying to raise an evil army. As for Ashe, he is my other mate, but I don't know or trust him. I just know that I am very scared."

"Just so you know, my wolf loves you." So Caleb was back in the house. "It's okay to be scared, Celestia." I froze at my full name. He pulled away and looked at me, keeping his hands on my shoulders. "What's wrong?"

"No one has called me by that name in years," I admitted.

"Sorry. I didn't-."

"It's fine. It's just weird. I'm used to being called Blood Angel. Sakura doesn't even call me that."

"Sakura?"

"My wolf. I have to let you guys meet her soon. I just don't want you guys to hurt her. Mate or not, I think I'd kill the person."

He just hugged me again and rubbed my back. I sighed, relaxing.

"I'm really immature, aren't I?" He laughed, his deep voice making my rib cage vibrate.

"A little, but it's okay."

"No, it isn't. Not anymore. I can't be a little girl anymore. I'm gambling with the lives of others, and I can't afford to lose." I let out a big yawn.

"Maybe we should revisit this later. You're healing and it's 3:30 in the morning."

"How did you convince Jade to let you sleep with me?"

"Ah. My wolf threw a bit of a tantrum and ripped up most of the downstairs. And some guest rooms. And some trees. It's all good though."

"Oh dear! You didn't hurt anyone did you?"

"Nah. I'm pretty sure." I yawned again.

"Alright back to sleep." He fell backwards, taking me with him. I giggled before pecking him on the cheek. I mean he did bully me and all, but he seemed to be a bit better now. Except to Ashe. It was his turn to freeze. I blushed.

"Sor-."

"I love you," he stated.

"Well, I never thought I'd be laying in a bed hearing a love confession out of you without sex." He laughed.

"Surprised me too."

"Sleep now?"

"Sure thing, mate."

I shivered and snuggled into him. "I'm serious. If someone ever told me this would've happened, I would have punched that one in the face whilst laughing."

He laughed again. "I don't doubt it."

Short and sweet. That's okay though.
