In a small, seemingly deserted factory in downtown Metropolis, Batman, Gogeta, Green Lantern, and Superman were engaged in a discussion about the alien box.

"So why are you three here? Metropolis is my turf." Superman asked, wanting answers.

"There have been reports of mysterious kidnappings across the country." Batman answered.

"It's been happening for about a month in Hercule City. We've never had any leads," Y/N stated solemnly.

"We had them here too. Figured that was life in the big city." Superman said. "You think the disappearances and these things are connected?"

"They're connected." Batman said, completely sure of his answer.

"So, these monsters, they're...-"

"Soldiers. Expendable soldiers at that. Planting these devices at all costs, that's military tactics. We might be staring down the barrel of a full-scale invasion." Batman said while looking at the alien box.

Y/N looked at Batman in shock and spoke. "You can't be serious."

"I am deadly serious. It almost happened once with your wife," Batman stated, leaving Y/N even more astonished and kind of embarrassed.

"Yeah, I agree with Gogeta, you're paranoid. Let's just crack it open and see what happens." Lantern said, he constructed a hammer and anvil from his power ring, with the alien box in the middle. Before he could bring the hammer down, Batman stopped him.

"Without any idea what's inside." Batman said while glaring at Lantern. "That's idiotic."

"Heh, I'll show you idiotic." Lantern said, ripping his arm from Batman's grip.

Before anything could happen, the box started beep and glow, getting their attention. "I didn't touch it!" Lantern said while backing up.

"It must have activated by itself!" exclaimed Superman as the beeping began to accelerate.

"It's gonna blow!" Lantern stated that he formed a hand from his ring, grasped the bubble containing the alien box, and pushed it away from them. As the alien box appeared on the verge of exploding, a portal materialized, identical to the one through which Gogeta had arrived.

The four heroes watched as a swarm of parademons flew out of the portal. They split up, each engaging a group of parademons. Green Lantern was about to construct something when he was pushed back by the parademons. Regaining his composure, he flew forward, conjured a giant fist, and struck one of the parademons.

Y/N launched ki blasts from afar at the parademons, while Superman swooped in, dispatching them with his heat vision. Batman landed a punch on one, but it was ineffective, and he was quickly overwhelmed by the parademons. Observing this, Y/N conjured a ki blade around his hand and cut through the parademons surrounding Batman, as well as those that had swarmed over him.

"You're welcome." Y/N had said before continuing to fight off parademons.

Green Lantern was repelling parademons until one seized his leg, dragging him down, and soon he was overwhelmed by the horde. Fortunately, Batman grasped Lantern's hand, rescuing him from the mass of parademons. Green Lantern released Batman's arm, conjured a colossal robotic form, and launched missiles at the encircling parademons, annihilating them.
