3rd POV

Early Morning

"I'm heading out." Y/n said.

Tae watched him slip on his shoes with mild interest, "Not like you to have somewhere to go so early in the morning." She remarked as she stirred her coffee.

"I'll be back around noon." Y/n said as he left the house.

Tae watched him go, wondering what her little brother was up to.

"Heeeeeyyyy!!!!!!!"

Y/n recognized that shouting and looked up to see Kinta running towards him waving his arms like he was about to take off.

"I can see you and hear you fine." Y/n said flatly as Kinta stopped in front of him.

"Just as mechanical as ever, huh?" Kinta grinned.

"I have no mechanical parts inside my body." Y/n said.

"You sure act like you do though." Kinta said.

Y/n didn't seem like he understood.

"Never mind! Let just get in there and cheer for Togo chan!!"

"Yeaaah!!!" Kinta shouted as he threw his fist up into the air.

"...Come on. You do it too." Kinta said as he looked at Y/n.

"Why?" Y/n asked.

"We're cheering for Togo chan's victory. Come on, do it for her." Kinta said.

"I don't see the point."

"Then, do it for me."

"Like I said, I don't see the point."

"Man, that's cold." Kinta said.

"I have been told I am cold and unfeeling." Y/n said flatly.

"We'll work on that." Kinta said as he patted Y/n on the back.

"Don't touch me."

The people at the venue gave them weird looks, not expecting a couple of high schoolers to show up at a professional shogi match.

"You know, for some reason I was imagining this giant arena with a tiny shogi table in the middle. This place is a lot smaller than I imagined." Kinta said as they sat down.

The light chattering quickly died down as the two players entered.

Y/n and the man on the other side of Kinta edged away as Kinta began waving his hands like he was a signaling to an airplane on where to land.

Hifumi noticed him and gave a small wave and a smile.

"Hey, so do you know how shogi works?" Kinta leaned in and whispered to Y/n.

"I read a book to understand the rules. Now be quiet." Y/n.

"Cool cool cool cool cool cool mph-" Kinta was silenced by Y/n putting a hand over his mouth.

The match started with Hifumi's opponent. Hifumi's soft expression turned into her serious one. The battle on the board raged, with each leader commanding their troops to move forward. People seemed half amazed and half weirded out by the strange things Hifumi was saying during moves.

"I summon forth the forbidden move that shall bring your end... Ultimate Excalibur Attack! Check!" Hifumi exclaimed as she said as she slammed down the piece onto the board with a sharp "smack"
