Discord kitten - Reiner x Reed

Chapter 8 - Bittersweet.

-Reiner's pov or wtv-

It's been a few weeks now. Reiner genuinely misses all of the bickering the two had in their spare time, the sweet words they said to eachother whenever they needed it. He thinks about the first time he messaged him, thinking it will get him nowhere but being REALLY bored. The worst part is that it actually made him feel happy, when they got a little closer. But now he was stuck with nothing, because he had been dumb. He sits at his desk and reads the messages they used to send to eachother, thinking of all that happened in person with him too and it's bittersweet. But that's all he has anymore. 

Thinking of the real life moments, makes him realize something. If Reed didn't know he was his discord kitten, why did he protect him in such an alpha masculine dominating way from Porter that one time..? This upsets him, somehow. He actually felt like they had something going on, and Reed practically flirted with him when he didn't know..? That is genuinely so fucked up. 

Reiner notices Reed approaching him, and his heart does stop for a second because god, he's hot, but he then remembers what he was just thinking about. Reed tries to speak to him, and that's when he decides to question him.

"...Did it actually mean nothing to you?" Reiner asks, hurt.                                                                                

"What? Why?" Reed replies.

"You know what happened with Porter. You didn't know that I was who I was and you still did that. Why?" Reiner mumbles. He was being vague, but it was obvious what he was talking about. Well, at least Reiner thinks it is.

Reed is quiet for the next few seconds. This guy can't be serious. Why in the world would he do this to him? What did he even fucking do?? He ACTUALLY doesn't care and never did?? This is what made Reiner lose his faith.

"Do you just lead people on in your spare time? What, you get off on this or something? What the fuck is wrong with you? Seriously, you-... Did you just get bored of me after a few months and look for an excuse to move on to someone else? You know, that behavior is very unprofessional, especially coming from you, Reed." Reiner begun. This man was unbelievable. Reiner couldn't even believe he had the nerve to come up to him right now, too.

...Silence.

-Reed's pov- 

He had no idea why he did any of it, really. He knows those were really stupid decisions, Reiner has a point. He would argue back, saying that he does care, but he can't.

"Continuing to speak to you in such ways, knowing who you are to me, would be very unprofessional." Reed lied. Well he probably was right but he didn't actually care about that, when it comes to his kitten. Or, well, his former kitten. He's going to have to get used to not calling him his kitten. Fuck, he's stupid. He towered over Reiner's petite figure in silent regret.
