chapter 5

(Isaac's POV)

So here I am standing next to the most breath-taxingly beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life. It's like she almost emanates an aura of trust and understanding, it's also like you could tell her your deepest secrets that you hide from the world and even yourself. I know in my heart of hearts that I have to tell her my past and i can tell she won't judge me. I just hope i have the courage to tell her...

so this is my story:

I was born an illegitimate child or as you could say a child born out of wedlock. I was born in Orpington near London to Marie-Janet Harris or Jessie to her friends. I was born on the date of August 15th 1923. I and my mother lived in a small rented semi-detached house near the centre of the village. I lived a happy life until the age of twelve, when my mother suddenly struck with a last remaining strain of Spanish flu, although rare but not unheard of, she died in a matter of weeks of becoming ill. As no one knew who my biological father was or the where about of him I was sent away to my mother’s cousin, who lives on the outskirts of york on the partridge estate, which was the second largest estate in the whole county, to where I was released into a world unknown and dangerous.

I spent roughly about six months living with my second cousin and his wife. whilst i was living there I had been a victim to nearly every type abuse there is, I was sexually, mentally, emotionally and physically abused. life was feeling like it was punishing me. I was quickly losing every last drop of hope and then i found Richard my best friend we were close enough to be brothers and i told him everything about me.

One day I finally had enough, me and Richard hatched a plan and that day we told his parents. They of course were happy to help, and the plan was in motion within days. A week later I ran away from Richards’s house I was sent on my travels to where I am now, to my salvation, this very orphanage. for months after i ran away i spent a lot of time moving from place to place as i was not trusted by the people who took me in and thought i was running away from doing my duty for my king and country but i was really just running from my past and i know cousins were looking for me because ever since i left york Richard has been sending me letters every couple of months. even now  my cousins looking for me four years later and sometimes i really wonder and speculate the reason, but i usually end up just beating myself up and bringing myself down with all the bad horrific memories.

after about three months of moving around i finally found myself here in the orphanage this was the place that I've never been judged or looked down upon or as someone who is avoiding his duty.

this is where my travels have brought me standing next to this beautiful, trust worthy, understanding and all round friendly innocent girl to whom looks like she’s nearly a woman
