Ling Chen looked at his panicked eyes, and without asking any more questions, he pressed him into his arms, "Okay, Captain will take you away." Then he quickly ordered, "Cancan and Xiao Mu come to meet you."
After closing the door of the saber-toothed tiger compartment, Ling Chen tore off his windbreaker and shirt in two moves, put on a tank top, and then put on combat uniforms, becoming the Ling Chen that Ye Xiao was familiar with.
Sitting next to Ye Xiao, Ling Chen touched his palm, "Are you feeling better?"
Ye Xiao held a candy in his mouth and nodded to Ling Chen.
He held Ling Chen's fingers with one hand and held the scabbard tightly with the other hand. After a while, he spoke, "I know who those two are."
Ling Chen: "Vertical pupils?"
"Hmm."
Ling Chen felt that this should be related to Ye Xiao's past. He first winked at Jiang Mu and the others, and then patted Ye Xiao's back soothingly, "You tell me."
Ye Xiao half-closed his eyelashes and spoke hesitantly, "I entered the Silver Blade training base when I was six years old. When I was twelve years old, I was sent to another training room with the other nine people who survived."
This simple description made Ling Chen's mouth bitter for no reason.
He had heard about what the bases of those mercenary organizations used to train killing machines were like. People would be locked in the same cage with hungry lions, without weapons, and they had to fight lions like beasts. Or dozens of people who had been hungry for two or three days would be locked in the same narrow room, with only a tube of nutrient solution provided, and only those who survived were eligible to eat it.
He suddenly remembered that he had asked Ye Xiao before if life was hard in the past. Ye Xiao replied that it was a little hard.
Ye Xiao did not notice the change in Ling Chen's expression. He stared at Ling Chen's finger and narrated in a flat tone, "There were originally forty-six people in that training room, plus me and nine others, a total of fifty-six people. On the night we went there, one of the nine people was taken away. Three days later, he was sent back, and his eyes turned into fluorescent vertical pupils."
Jiang Cancan thought of the mantis man he met before and squeezed closer to Jiang Mu.
Ye Xiao pursed his lips, "But he died that night. When he died, many snake scales grew on his arms. Those scales pierced his skin and made him bleed a lot. People around him said that he was another failure."
Ling Chen gently touched his hair, "Did anyone succeed?"
"Yes." Ye Xiao nodded, "Many succeeded. Among the fifty-six people, thirteen failed, and the remaining forty-two succeeded. They became very powerful. Some were so strong that you couldn't even feel their breath when they stood behind you."
He glanced at Ling Chen quietly and added, "I am an exception. I didn't succeed, but I didn't fail either."
Hearing this, Ling Chen didn't ask any more questions, but reached out and hugged Ye Xiao, who was shivering all over, on his thighs. Ye Xiao didn't struggle, hesitated for two seconds, and leaned into Ling Chen's arms.
Ling Chen gently patted Ye Xiao's back and said to Jiang Mu and the others, "So from the current situation, Shengjue should have mastered this technology and obtained a successful experimental product after the Silver Blade was destroyed."
Jiang Mu called up the surveillance video he had saved before, "The individual combat capabilities of these two people are extremely strong. If one of them is pulled out alone, he should be able to tie with Brother Chen, or even win."
