When I awoke from my slumber Matt and Sarah were not the only kids sleeping on me. Three other kids were asleep curled up on my outstretched legs all about the same age probably nine maybe even eight.

They all had curly brown hair two girls and one boy.

I tried to move my legs just a little, but I couldn't feel them. In the end I just laid there helpless with five kids sleeping on me. I looked at all those sleeping faces. So innocent and sweet. I felt the corners of my mouth twitch and then I was smiling.

" since when was there a dog pile,"I heard a kid whisper. I looked over to where I heard the voice. There I saw a small girl with straight brown hair to her shoulders and big brown eyes Probably around nine. She smiled at me.

" mind if I join," she asked. I looked at her eyes they were puffy and swollen.

She was sad, and I became sad just by looking at her. I held out my hand to her. She took it and I slid her onto my lap.

She hugged me tightly. I felt my thin shirt become wet with tears and I hugged her back.

" my name is pyper," I said softly.

" my name is Harley." she sniffed.

" what a lovely name," I comforted.

She hugged me tighter.

" thank you," she squeak.

The light from the small crack on the side of the box car shine down on Sarah's eyes making her wake up. She squirmed around a bit and rubbed her face on my sleeve.

" what's going on," she said in a sleepy voice looking up at me than the other girl hugging me.

" The train stopped and we heard voices outside," Harley said Sheakley.

"What," She responded weirdly. She looked around at the others all huddled in the back two corners then at matt and the three curly haired kids Huddled next to him.

" what's going to happen to us," I heard a kid scream.

" quiet," hushed another.

" are we going to die?" I heard a smaller kid squeal.

Just then we heard screams and gunfire. we all instinctively got as close to four as we could. I felt Harley squeeze me tightly.

" it's going to be OK," I whispered to her kissing her for head.

" I hope you're right," she responded woridly.

Someone kicked the big sliding door from the outside. Kids gassed and tried their best to get as far away as possible from it.

" dang thing won't open," we heard a loud man's voice shout.

" calm down Sergeant." we heard a woman's voice say." is there anyone in there," she shouted.

No one spoke too scared to.

We heard a sigh." get the door down there in there," she commanded.

The door silly was smashed into 1 million pieces with a small explosion. Smoke filling the box car.

I heard the screams of kids as the scrambled around me terrified.

Bright sunlight field box car, And cold wind niped at us.

Slowly my eyes adjusted and I saw several figures in front of us all having rifles stung across the shoulders.

A tall broad woman stepped inside of the box car looking at us. She got on one knee and stretched out her hand to Sarah good 5 feet away. And she said some thing in an unknown language. We looked around at each other silent question asking if anyone knew what she was saying. She didn't step closer to me I was one of the kids I was sitting in front with everyone else scrambling behind me.

She looked at me closely at my feet, legs, face, and my hands.

She didn't outstretched her hand caressing my cheek.

" this one's in worse condition than the others," she shouted to the people outside.

" what," I squeaked.

" oh, can you understand me?" she questioned.

" yes, we all can," I answered I'm sure if I should have confirmed her question.

" we are like you, well at least some of us are. We are here to help you," she said reassuringly.

"Huh?"

She then threw a blanket over top of me and motioned the people outside to distribute blankets to the rest of us.

" can you stand?" she asked me.

I abruptly shut up and then fell back down. Wincing from the pain in my feet and legs.

" I guess that's a no," she said. With that she scooped me up in her arms and jumped out the box car.

I close my eyes trying to keep the cold out and the bright sun away. After finally opening my eyes I took in my surroundings there were five big war trucks used for caring shipment or soldiers.

I was exhausted. I felt my eyelids get heavy and felt them clothes. I don't remember much other than the woman handing me over to someone else's arms. I felt warm.
