A lone wolf howls at the rising moon.

He stands on a cliff overlooking the trees. It's a silent night in the woods. Too silent. If crickets don't chirp, frogs don't croak, and owls don't hoot, you can almost believe you are the only one there. It's amazing that even in the forest, which is usually filled with so many animals, you can feel alone sometimes.

It's a daunting thought. A lonely thought.

But Gray is a wolf who doesn't mind being alone. He was all alone when the pack turned their back on him, all alone when the humans entered the forest, brandishing their hunting guns. This is a wolf who probably spent his whole life alone. But now, Gray has nothing to fear because the humans are gone and he is not.

He raises his head and looks at the stars. It's a peaceful night and Gray is at ease for once. He shouldn't be. Because things will happen tonight, things he'll regret.

Gray sighs and retreats back to his cave. He hopes he can make it before the coyotes come out to play. They are, in his opinion, the most annoying creatures in existence. He walks with his head down, and fur glistening in the moonlight.

"You're a bit noisy for a wolf."

Suddenly, a voice spoke out in the darkness.

And this is the exact voice who will ruin his life.
