Bickering could be heard outside of the room nextdoor, as Marie returned to the hallways of the mansion.

"I lent it to you to 'borrow'! Now, give it back!"

"I have no idea what you're on about."

"You said you'd return it! Where is it?"

"Don't recall such a thing..."

Marie knocked on the door gently, looking at the two dark haired boys, "What ever is the matter? I thought I told you two to get changed. Breakfast will get cold if you're late."

She was used to the gang's antics by now. It was always Mista who never returned something he'd promised he'd borrow or poor Narancia who'd suffer the consequences and hold a strop all day.

"I lent Mista my Tupac CD last week and now he's saying he doesn't have it!"

Marie crossed her arms and looked at the brown-haired boy unamused, "And your side of the story?"

"I don't ever remember asking him for such a thing," Mista ruffled his dark curls and stretched his arms casually, "And either way, Tupac isn't that good of a rapper."

"Huh?! You take that-"

"Now, now! Let's not fight any longer," Marie looked between the two, before glancing at Naraccia with a smile, "After breakfast, show me what the CD was and I'll give you some money to go buy it back."

"But-!"

"Come along now, we haven't got all day!" She grinned softly and left the room quickly.

Marie exhaled in relief, and rushed to the front door, picking up the daily newspaper Fugo and Leone enjoyed to indulge themselves into. She sprung into the dinning room with a large smile, admiring a calm Fugo who was sat all alone drinking his tea.

"Good morning, Fugo," Marie greeted him sweetly and handed him the newspaper, "Did you rest well?"

"I feel like a train ran me over."

"Goodness!" She gasped softly, "Then I certainly must talk to Giorno about this."

"Sorry?"

"It's just that," Marie sat beside him for a moment, "I saw the state of Bruno and Leone this morning and I simply cannot have you all exhausted like this."

"It's not that big of a deal. Giorno said we'd be working more since the company blew up." Fugo sighed tiredly, placing the paper on the table.

"That's no excuse for ruining your health."

Fugo remained silent.

Marie chuckled softly and squeezed his shoulder gently, "I will find a way, I always do."

He smiled softly and watched her leave the room with grace,

"What would we ever do without you, Marie?"

And finally, the last chore for the morning was waking up Giorno. While her brother didn't have the greatest relationship with his parents, he loved and adored all his siblings equally. Especially Marie, since she was the only girl in their family.

A took a few light knocks for the king of the castle to call out a gentle 'enter', in which Marie opened the door and rushed towards the curtains, revealing the day, in all it's glory.

"Good morning, Giorno."

"Good morning, Marie."

Marie always envied Giorno for the way he looked when he woke up. The way his long golden waves covered the silk pillows on his bed, or the fact that his skin looked so perfect, better looked after than any woman.

She watched him sit up with a soft yawn and rubbed his eyes gently, smiling sleepily as he felt a small kiss reach his forehead.

"I suppose you didn't rest well either?" Marie sat behind him, grabbing a nearby brush to separate his fine curls.

"It's been hectic," He leaned into his sister's touch, humming contently, "With the rise of the fashion line, we've been the talk of entire Italy."

Marie sighed softly and began to braid his hair, "I understand that you're all on your feet and I'm very proud of you all but..."

"But...?"

She took a small breath and sat in front of him, placing the finished braid on his shoulder, "Never mind, we'll talk about it at breakfast."

Giorno looked at her confused, "Do I need to be worried?"

"Not in the least, please don't worry."

He sighed softly and stood up, "I don't like secrets, but I'll be patient and wait."

She chuckled softly and watched his smile grow slightly. The two had a great relationship as siblings, always thinking of one another, leaning each other's shoulder for another to cry. No matter what, they always had each other's backs.

"Has Papa or Father called?" Marie asked.

"No, but Josuke and Jolyne did check in with me not too long ago," He replied, "They wanted to know when it would be okay to visit soon."

"Oh, that would be wonderful!" Marie grinned excitedly, "I'll have to start cleaning the guestrooms this afternoon."

Giorno always felt at ease when he saw his sister smiling. It was like a sign that everything was okay. If his sister was happy, he was happy.

"You should probably take it easy for now," Giorno laughed softly, "I can't have you falling sick before they even get here."

"I'll be fine, I always am."

There it was, that same sentence. Giorno had always known Marie was tired, but she never admitted it. For once, he wanted her to escape the world, even for a little while, just to live life.

Marie smiled softly and walked to the door, "Don't be too late, breakfast will get cold." And with that, she closed the door with a light click, before heading down to the dinning room.

That left her brother deep in thought. He grabbed his robe and headed towards his desk, picking up his telephone and dialing a few numbers.

The phone whirred impatiently before the line was fully connected.

"Hello? Hey, Johnny."
