It was like a race for a life or death situation. Marie rushed to Mr Zeppeli's room with all the equipment she could carry in her skinny arms, as if she were ready to perform surgery.

She arrived at his room in a giffy, knocking in quick, rapid motions. Screw the knocks, she said and opened the door without a doubt.

"Mr Zeppeli? Gyro, are-"

"..."

Her eyes widened in surprise, turning her gaze into awe.

So that's what was hiding under his tight and expensive clothes.

Oh, how it made Marie's heart tremble once she caught the sight of his gorgeous, chiselled abs and his cute, small waist.

"Take a picture," He placed a hand on his small waist, "It lasts longer, Cindy."

Marie quickly turned around, her back facing him.

"O-oh, I'm terribly sorry-" She laughed shyly, "I mean... I just-"

"Relax, relax," He chuckled softly, "Just close the door and turn around."

Marie gulped nervously closed the door. How terribly loud the click of the know was, making Marie feel very nervous.

She switched her stance and faced him with an embarrassed smile, "Johnny told me you had some wounds to be treated?"

He laughed softly and took the mounds of equipment from her arms, placing it on the bed, "Sweetheart, I'm a doctor, remember? All of this really isn't necessary. But I'm touched by your effort."

No, her name wasn't 'Sweetheart', but the way it rolled off his tongue and the fact that it was meant for her...

God, that man would be the death of her.

"O-oh," Marie stuttered embarrassedly, "I forgot, Mr Zeppeli. But Johnny told me you were hurt."

"I also told you not to call me that." He grinned playfully, "And I actually may need some assistance with my injury."

She shook off her feelings and took a deep breath. He was hurt, that's why she was there.

"Where are you injured exactly?" Marie glanced at him concerned.

He turned around, displaying his broad shoulders and a large but not deep cut on his right shoulder blade.

Marie was starting to believe she needed an ambulance because her head was going faint.

And good Lord, his backside was just perfect.

"I'd like you to help me clean this," Gyro turned around, noticing her red and flushed cheeks, "If you're not squeamish."

"Don't worry!" She smiled nervously and guided him to sit down on his bed, "Just leave it to me!"

His chest rumbled softly as his pearly whites escaped from his pretty lips, "Very well. I hope you weren't too busy."

"I'm not too busy for anyone..." She exhaled shakily.

"..."

"...Especially you, Gyro."

He flinched slightly from her touch as Marie began to work on his cut.

But that wasn't the only thing that caught him off by surprise.

"You know," Her voice became more relaxed, "I never thanked you for always being by my brother's side."

"Hm?"

"It's always been hard on him so," She cleaned his wound gently, "I'm grateful that you kept his hopes up."

Her touch was sweet and warm. The stinging pain was gone before Gyro could even notice.

"Please," He scoffed softly, "I knew the guy had potential the moment I met him."

Marie smiled softly as her finger brushed against his warm and smooth skin, "Even so, he used to tell me that you were like another brother to him."

"...Really?"

Marie hummed in affirmation and dressed the cut, "I was at ease, knowing he wasn't alone, that he had someone like you."

Gyro turned around to face her and smiled softly, "He never told me that."

"That's Johnny for you," She laughed sweetly, "He actually said something similar to me, just now."

Gyro's eyes were glued to her face, darting from her plump lips towards her gem-like irises, "What did he say?"

"He said he'd support me with whatever road I go down."

"Is that so?"

"Not very 'Johnny', right?"

"I wouldn't be this surprised if it wasn't."

Marie's giggles were music to his ears, full of true happiness and innocence.

"It's not like he's never loved us," She sighed contently, "He's just not the type to express his love in that way."

"No, I get you," He chuckled softly, "Johnny's just a goof."

Marie exhaled softly and finished her work. But with how well the conversation was going, it disappointed her that she had to leave so hurriedly.

"There, all done." She smiled softly as Gyro shifted to face her.

"Thank you, Marie," He reached out to grasp her fingers gently and gave her hand a small squeeze, "I'll always be indebted to you."

She was taken aback by his touch but quickly melted into it, hoping the warm embrace of his fingers would soon engulf her entire existence.

"No," She corrected him and reached out to hold his other empty hand, "You're mistaken."

Gyro raised a golden eyebrow, slightly confused.

"I was indebted to you," She grinned softly and gave both of his hands a gentle squeeze, tracing her small thumbs over the soft skin of his knuckles, "And here is my payment."

Understanding that treating his would was indeed what Marie meant by her 'payment', Gyro smirked playfully and pulled her closer, tilting her chin up to meet his gaze.

Marie caught her breath in her throat, along with the beat her heart skipped.

"As much as I appreciate your handiwork, Miss Joestar," His breath hovered above her ear, "I will not accept that as your payment."

She shivered slightly as her cheeks grew hot and red, "I... Sorry?"

Gyro laughed heartily and held both sides of her face in his hands before taking in his precious view.

He let go of her and walked to his room door and opened it, "Goodnight, Miss Joestar."

Marie stood up, weak in the knees, and wobbled slightly before leaving. She smiled softly and glanced back at Mr Zeppeli.

"Goodnight, Gyro."
