Stefan had been doing his very, very best job of avoiding the twins ever since they had cornered him in his own house. But it seemed from that one interaction that he had picked up on their extensive string of bad luck. Because wherever he went, there was one twin or the other lagging behind him. He would turn a corner and there was Finch, leaning nonchalantly against the wall of lockers, her eyes set right on him.

He'd be standing outside, waiting for Elena and Fawkes would be there too— maybe seven yard away, tossing a football between himself and Tyler. Or there was even an incident where he'd been in the library and pulled a book down from the shelves and there on the other side, was Finch and Fawkes, lamely flicking through books of their own.

By the time sixth period had rolled around, Stefan had become increasingly paranoid— afraid one of the witches was going to jump out and stake him. While he wasn't so sure Fawkes would, he was convinced that Finch was happy to do so. And if last night had been any indication, she would immediately kill him if she thought he began to pose a real threat to the people she cared about. (It was just three people— sue her.)

And Stefan felt like his world was ending when Ms. Angelou cornered him in the hallway after sixth period, informing him of a mandatory interview he would have to do with a yearbook or newspaper committee member. He had been okay with it— until the bubbly older woman gave him the worst news possible and told him that it would be Finch conducting the interview.

He had been half convinced it had been the witch's idea— until he saw her after school, scowling at the older woman. Then he felt a little better about it because he knew she'd be miserable too. But then it was crushed when she had sought him out to tell him: "I can't wait to do that interview! Who knows when I'll... spring it on you." Before disappearing into the crowd, leaving the vampire fearing for his life... once again.

Stefan was sure he could like the girl, even go as far as to say he could be her friend. But it seems that the last thing Finch would ever want to do is be his friend— especially since he had refused to give up the name of the other vampire terrorizing the town. Upon realizing that last night, she had flicked her head back and sent him flying into his house and turned around with a huff.

Though both of the twins had left him there, he still felt like if he made a wrong move, they'd know and come back. Truly, he was scared of them— just like Finch had wanted. Now as he nervously stood in the only park in Mystic Falls, he felt uneasy as the girl and her brother stood only a few yards away. And even though, neither was looking at him— he knew he was being watched.

Stefan was beginning to realize that trying to avoid the twins would be useless. He knew he might as well cave to their constant watching and scrutiny. Finch could easily push herself into her life at any moment and pretend it was for the interview. So, taking a deep breath, Stefan squared his shoulders and headed over to where the twins stood, talking nonchalantly with Matt and Tyler.
