I woke up a few hours later. The human and Charlie were gone which immediately caused panic in me. I got up from the couch and sniffed them out. I can definitely smell Charlie so I follow the scent.
They were playing outside. The human throwing a ball for Charlie and, Charlie catching it to bring it back. I sighed, going close to Charlie as she once again brought the ball back. The human didn't seem to care much that I was there, throwing the ball again.
Me and Charlie went after it. Though of course I got it first. Charlie though nipped my paw, making me yip and drop the ball. "Charlie!" I gasped, as she ran away. I chased after her, as she zigzagged all around the trees.
She was faster when it came to turns and agility. But I was faster in open fields, which we were coming up on. Once in the open I grabbed her by the scruff as she pouted. I dragged her back to the human, who was looking at her phone irritated.
Me and Charlie looked at one another, seeing the human's expression. Charlie barked, getting her attention as she smiled softly at us. "Let's go back inside ok?" She whispered, scratching under our chins. I had to admit.. this felt good as hell..
We followed her inside, Charlie shaking her fur a bit as she jumped onto the couch. The human turning on the TV and letting us watch it while she cooked. The human is a hard worker, I can give her that much. Two days is enough to see the type of person she is.
I and Charlie snuggle up as she looks like she wants to say something. "Charlie, if you want to say something, say it." I told her, nipping her ear. She huffed, swatting me away as if I was a nat.
"If you really must know.. I sort of.. like the human.." she muttered. I licked her cheek, nuzzling her. "It's fine.. I do to kind of.." I admitted. Both us look at one another as we started to glow. The light was fuzzy and warm as we couldn't do anything except it.

When the light faded we looked at ourselves, we were human. I was a dark color, like how I was before I died. Charlie was pale but not completely snow white like down in hell. Her eyes were a golden, honey color. While mine were a shining grey. I could see out of my other eye..
Our clothes matched, both of us having sweat pants and tank tops. All red colors though. Though we both had tails and ears of a dog and wolf.
We heard a gasp as the human looked at us. "W-who are you people?.." she stuttered. This was gonna be a very long afternoon..
