"it was the first day of 5th grade when i met lynn loud for the first time"
aria arrived to school in her oversized white shirt with denim shorts. she had her hair in a single braid and her prescription glasses. sure she could see but without her glasses she had a headache and couldn't focus. all she knew was that she was ecstatic for starting 5th grade, the last grade before middle school.
some would call aria a geek, try hard and over acheiver, others like her family praised her and were admired by how much she truly loved having homework and participating in school.
"bye hon!" her mom yelled as she got out of the car. aria wasn't worried, she had friends, she loved school, and she was known and loved by her teachers from previous years and from her two older brothers, sebastian and danny. sebastian was her more serious and older brother, who she often looked up to and wanted to be as good as he is. but daniel on the other hand, was two years older that aria and known as the class clown and always failing with D's and F's.
aria walked to the main auditorium which had every single kids' name printed out and their class room number next to it. she scanned the fifth grade paper, reaching the kids' last names that started with L. "lazore, leigh, levine..LEVINE!" she exclaimed after finding her last name. sliding her finger to the other side of the page seeing the number B23 which was her classroom.
but she couldnt help but notice the last name under hers, loud. that's odd. she's never heard or seen anyone with a loud last name but lynn loud was in class B23.
she made her way over to her new class. she walked in to see most of the students there. some familiar faces, some new.
but she knew where she wanted to sit. front and center. first row, right where she could see the teacher and all of her writings on the board. and obviously no one was sitting there, no one would sit front and center on the first day of school, besides her and lynn loud.
she happily made her way over to the seat, as she almost sat down, she heard loud footsteps and a body slamming into her.
she got shoved, making her almost fall over.
"sorry but this seat is mine" a girl with a raspy voice replied as she sat where aria had planned to sit.
"hey you cant just shove people and you cant just take my seat!" aria yelled, and class hadnt even started yet. "whoops, but i dont see your name written on the chair" the girl replied back and she gave aria a sarcastic sorrow face.
aria was appalled. she had a reputation to hold, she had to sit there!
almost about to throw a temper tantrum on the rude girl who was sat, she decided to find another seat. so what if her seat was right in front of the teacher, aria knew she was gonna get A's all through the school year.
the next available seat was on the other side of the classroom far from where she originally wanted to sit. and so she sat there.
"hellooo class" the teacher shouted as the first bell rang. "welcome to 5th grade! now first things first lets take attendence then get into our assigned seating chart." this gave aria hope, maybe she could be front of the class after all.
"aria levine" the teacher finally called out. "present" aria raised her hand proudly.
"now, you wouldnt happen to be related to daniel levine, now would you?" she knew the teacher would ask this question.
"yes miss, he's my older brother" she answered hoping for amazed and impressed ooh and aas. "oh well..let's just hope you cause less trouble then your brother, aria" the teacher faked smiled to her. aria felt her face heat up.
how embarrassing? now people would think she was a class clown, troublemaker like danny.
"lynn loud" the teacher continued. aria wanted to see who this new girl was. "here" she heard the same raspy voice from the front of the class. it was the same girl who had shoved her.
ms. goldy as she learned, finished taking attendance and started arranging the class into new seats, classically in last name order. so of course ms. goldy ended up placing aria and lynn next to eachother.
even more disappoined, aria was forced to sit next to her most hated person in the class.
"class, say hello to your new elbow partner!"
"hi im lynn" she started
"so ive heard" aria answered glumly. "look im sorry about the whole shoving thing okay, it all over now" lynn said. "yeah, its fine" she lied.
for the rest of the school year, lynn and aria only talked once. but she knew one thing, lynn loud was not her friend
