POV: Molly

Home

Where was home?

My home was the burrow, but that wasn't where I had come from.

It wasn't my roots.

My roots lie in an empty familial home that hasn't seen a living person pass through its walls in years.

A home I have actively avoided.

I didn't want for myself to be tied to its history.

My family's history.

I am the last living descendent of the Prewett line, not including my children, so no one knows of the manor except me. As a Scared 28 familial manor it also boasts strong blood wards. No intruders should be able to penetrate them.

It was the safest place for us to go for the time being.

Why am I worried about safety?

Because Andromeda Tonks had just attacked Hermione minutes prior.

I do not know the witch's mental state. The woman clearly has gone off the deep end. I remember an insane Black sister and what she could do. The havoc she could cause. Hermione already went through that once.

No more.

I was not about to let Hermione go through that again.

So...

I apparated to my family home for the first time in 26 years.

POP!

With a pop, Hermione and I were whisked away from danger and reappeared. My feet were rooted to the ground, and stood there mesmerized by the mansion I hadn't seen in years.

It looked... the same as when I had been here last.

My family's manor was simply massive and was a testament to my family's wealth. It was built in the 15th century when my family had been gaining more prestige. They wanted people to know that the Prewett line was just as noble as the other Scared 28 families. Just as pure. They built the manor out in the mountains so no muggle would be able to stumble upon the property. I remember my Grandfather telling me a story about how one muggle man had done exactly that, so they had to kill him to protect our secrets. After that, they decided more protections were needed. That's where the barrier came to fruition. That strong barrier surrounded the manor in the event of invaders and to prevent other 'accidents.'

So, between the wards and the barriers this was the perfect place for Hermione to be at the moment.

Safe for the time being.

Another pop signaled that our family's house elf had come to greet us.

I looked at our house elf that was now in front of me and smiled warmly at her.

"It's good to see you again, Tilly," I said.

"Tilly can nots believe it. Mistress Molly is reallys here?" Tilly asked, wide-eyed.

"I am. I thought it was time. I also needed protection for the one I currently am carrying, so I thought the manor a perfect place," I said.

"Perfect indeeds. Mistress will be safes here. Alls the wards and barriers are ins place." Till replied.

"I appreciate you looking after the manor for so long Tilly. Could you update the wards to include Hermione Jean Granger?" I asked.

"Nos appreciation neededs. Tilly is willings to serve." Tilly said with a cute bow. "Tilly can gets on that rights away." Tilly said.
