Tainted hands can never be washed clean

Elena was walking on the way to her work place when she sensed someone after her.
Elena: Ugh at this time only?! Absolute fools! I need to go to work rn and this happens!
Suddenly she was pushed aside into a dark alley by a masked man and the man pressed a cloth of chloroform on her mouth and nose.
She fainted.
_After what felt like a sound sleep lol_
Elena's hands were tied at the back to a chair. She didn't give any effort to break free. She can't do drama rn. Have to save energy. The door opened and Lord Devonshire and his maid, Lena was seen. Lena had a look of .... nonchalant? Idk. Lord Devonshire was grinning at his success (lol success I am dying here).
Lord Devonshire: Look here, miss. I am not gonna keep you for long unless your lil lover still doesn't agree to leave me and my business alone.
Elena thought: lo..lover ok..moving on. I am gonna kill him anyways.
Lord Devonshire: Lena, look after her.
_Door closed_
Lena whispered: So what did he tell you to do?
Elena: Kill him.
Lena: Can you do this or shall I help?
Elena: As it's my 1st mission, I will do it alone.
Lena: Ok, beats me. 🤷‍♀️
Elena slowly got hold of her knife and cut open her hand ropes.
Elena: Imma just hide in a corner. Act like surprised when he enters again.
Lena: Are you teaching me?
Elena raised an eyebrow with a 🤦‍♀️expression.
After a few mins, footsteps were heard.
Elena got ready. She had her gun ready in a secret poket inside her skirt in case they searched her.
The door opened.
Lord Devonshire: LENA! WHERE IS SHE?! I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO LOOK AFTER HER!
Lena: I don't know sir! I turned around for a bit and next thing I know, she just...disappeared. *in a scared tone.
Lord Devonshire searched every corner of the room. He was just going to turn around when Elena jumped at his neck and strangled him. She may look dainty but her hands have iron grips. She then took her gun and placed it next to his head, holding him in place with an elbow twisting his neck. She said," Say bye bye to the world, lord ( sharp cold voice)". Her raven eyes glistened and she pulled the trigger. She had her gloves on and William basically prepared her so as not to leave any evidences behind and how to stage the murder as an accident. Elena told Lena the whole thing. Quickly they put a shooterboard in front of the dying noble and placed the noble in such a way that proves the whole thing. Next, they called the police.
_After the police arrived_
They both were interrogated. Elena said how the lord had called her to come along for shooting practice. Then he accidentally shot himself. Lena said that the noble always took her along wherever he went. She also gave the same account. ( Is the police stupid or am I stupid?)
_Later_
William: Well done. Sensei taught you perfectly.
Elena: Thank you. I am glad my 1st mission is over successfully ( Idk anymore what am I writing? Kills herself for the 1000th time).
Albert: Well that is over now. What would happen the farmers now?
William: They would be free from the loans. You burned the papers right Lena?
Lena: Yup.
William: Atleast one incident where you listened to me.
Lena: I do listen. I just do it in my way. Whats wrong with that? Tell your brother, Louis, that no one can force me to act on any thing?
William giving her side eye: When did I.... nvm.
_Later at night_
Elena's thoughts were all over the place. She didn't  think she would feel this after a simple killing of a cruel money making noble. She tried to calm herself saying that he deserved it!
knocking on the door
Elena opened it and saw William.
Elena: Awake at this hour? Something happened? (Trying to act normal as possible)
William: Can I come in?
Elena: Uh uh sure?
They both went inside.
Elena sat down on the bedside.
Elena: So?
William: You tell me. What are you feeling?
Elena: I am feeling fine as always.
William: The truth. Miss.
Elena stared long at the ground.
William: Are you feeling that conscience of your act is killing you slowly? Do you feel that you can never go back as you have already tainted your hands?
Elena shut her eyes and tried not to remember 'that' feeling.
William came closer and kneeled down on the floor to match her height.
William: Believe me. Everyone here had the same feeling after their 1st kill. It will wear off eventually. Just know that....this is a crime but you are doing it for a good cause. And..once this is over, you will find a way to atone for your sins. Cause however it is, it is a crime. I am sorry again for dragging you but then again, you chose this path yourself. So, the only way you have now is to believe in yourself. *saying this, he stood up. Walking out of the door, he said again," And I can't promise you that you will find peace amongst this but I can always promise you that this group will be by your side to ease it. You are not alone. * he closed the door.
Elena looked around the room, trying to take in the words. She was gulping continuously. Whatever William said, it took an impact on her. A right one. She feels less anxious and opened the window, looking up at the night sky. There were mom and Ruth, in front of her, smiling and encouraging her to go on. Tears fell and with that, she accepted herself, her new self, her  'tainted' self.
