When Olivia stood outside her mother's door with her alphas behind her, she had held her breath as the door opened. Her mother's face lit with a wide smile, and she immediately dragged Olivia into a tight, overwhelming hug. "I missed you!" She cried, rocking her back and forth.
"You too," Olivia replied halfheartedly, already embarrassed. "This is Micah, Garrett, and Lloyd."
She gestured to each of them, and her mother's mouth dropped open in surprise. She was stunned for a moment, but Lloyd was the first to offer his hand in greeting. "It's nice you meet you." He spoke, and her mother shook his hand in dazed shock.
"I wasn't expecting such handsome young men." She said, and Olivia wanted to drop her head into her hands. Micah laughed, but Garrett and Lloyd held themselves together, smiling politely.
She ushered each of them inside, and her father sat at the dinner table, rising when Olivia entered the room. He hugged her first, and then introduced himself to each of the other alphas. He was more relaxed than her mother, and Olivia hadn't worried about his reaction to them. Her father was an easygoing alpha. When they sat at the dining table, Lloyd took the seat beside Olivia, and Micah and Garrett sat across from them, with her parents on either end of the table.
Her mother insisted on serving each of them, and she filled their plates as she asked questions. She asked about their work, home, hobbies and interests. Halfway through their meal, Olivia had been surprised at how smooth it had gone. Then, her mother's questions dived into uncharted territory. "So, how do bonds work between a pack?"
"Mom," Olivia groaned, dragging her hands over her face. Her mother shrugged, waving her off.
"I'm only curious!" She defended, with a wide, innocent smile. "I've never seen one before."
"Olivia will be our central bond." Lloyd informed, calm and undeterred by her question. "She'll know that the pack is complete once she's claimed."
Olivia flushed, picturing each of them sinking their teeth into her. She wondered where they'd leave their marks on her body. She hated that her mother had even brought it up as her thighs pressed together. Don't think about it, she told herself, willing the thoughts away. She couldn't let her scent spike in her parents house, so close to her heat. It would ruin their night, and it'd be the most embarrassing moment of her life.
Micah's foot touched hers underneath the table, and she glanced upwards. He gestured with his fork, and she realized that she had stopped eating. She stabbed into a piece of chicken, and stuffed it into her mouth. She heard Micah exhale, almost chuckling under his breath.
"So, you do intend to bond my daughter?" Her mother asked, raising a brow. When Lloyd nodded, she gasped, stealing everyone's attention. "I can't believe this is really happening."
Tears filled her mother's eyes, and Olivia glanced toward her father for help. He had raised his brows in surprise, but didn't intervene. Lloyd cleared his throat, and continued. "We've been waiting to complete our pack for quite some time." He mentioned, but Olivia's mother shook her head.
"I'm happy for you," she wiped at her eyes, sucking in deep breaths. "My baby girl is growing up."
Olivia felt shame burn down her neck. "I'm twenty-six, mom." She blanched, and then she felt a hand on her thigh.
Lloyd didn't glance towards her, but his silence was commanding, although she didn't know what he was trying to do. She squirmed in her seat, but didn't move his hand. The heat of his fingers over her dress had her skin growing warm. Don't think about it, she reminded herself, again and again.
By the time their dinner was over, Olivia felt thoroughly feverish. She couldn't wait to get out of the house, but she hoped that nobody else could tell. Her heat was starting soon, and she refused to be outside her new nest whenever it began. But, she didn't mention anything to the alphas, and she had nodded along to her mother's words, although she was only half-listening. Eventually, she reached underneath the table and squeezed Lloyd's hand, silently begging him to understand.
It was the smallest gesture, but it caught his attention. She swallowed her nerves when his eyes met hers.
"We'll have to do this again, sometime." He turned towards Olivia's mother, interrupting her through another boring story of Olivia's childhood.
She blinked in surprise, but Lloyd left little room for arguments when he stood, and Olivia was grateful. She followed behind immediately, trying to withhold her scent. Her mother tried to coddle her again, trapping her into another tight hug. Olivia's clothing had begun feeling uncomfortable on her skin. She wanted to leave now, now, now. She hugged both her parents and stood by the front door, waiting for each of her alphas to say their farewells.
The scent of cinnamon drifted behind her, and her head almost fell backwards when two hands touched her shoulders. Her stomach rolled with desire, fleeting and quick, but her parents stood less than ten feet away. It was the worst timing for her approaching heat.
"Don't touch me." She whispered sharply, and Garrett pulled away as if he'd been stung. It was torture, and she could've sworn that she felt his hands on her even after he removed them.
She sent him a pleading look over her shoulder, and his eyes widened in realization. He leaned down, until his lips barely brushed her ear. "Do we need to go to the car, princess?" He asked, softly.
The sound of his deep voice had the perfume she'd been trying to withhold bursting from her. She threw the front door open, and marched outside without waiting on him, before anyone could scent her. Her stomach cramped, and she clutched her midsection as slick dripped between her thighs. She heard the door shut behind her, and she whimpered, glancing over her shoulder to see her biggest alpha heading straight towards her.
His eyes had grown dark, feral as her pulse pounded with the instinct to run, and have him chase. She bolted towards the car, and the growl that escaped him was depraved. They had taken Lloyd's car, with his tinted windows, and she climbed inside the backseat, on all fours. One large, rough hand gripped her ankle, and Garrett forced himself into the seat with her, slamming the door behind them.
