It was Friday, and Lloyd braced himself before walking through the front door of his own house. He had just gotten home from work, but he knew that the second he stepped inside, the omega's scent would send him spiraling out of control. That was how it had been for the past several days. Her scent was everywhere, and he was losing his mind.
When he entered the kitchen, a foil wrapped plate waited for him. Olivia had been consistent with cooking, and she had filled their kitchen with actual ingredients, and cooked meals from scratch. They were delicious, and he always ended up devouring everything she left for him.
He had a rough day at work, and he was halfway finished with his plate when Micah came downstairs, leaning over the countertop. "We made vanilla cupcakes, if you want dessert." He grinned.
Lloyd opened his mouth to answer, but a soft, sweet moan drifted from upstairs, and both alphas stiffened. His cock hardened in his pants, and he choked back the growl that threatened to escape. It was Garrett's day, and it wasn't hard to imagine what they could've been doing.
"Have either of you fucked her?" He asked, flatly.
"I haven't." Micah blinked, his eyes downcast on the marble counter. "Maybe Garrett is getting lucky."
The thought hadn't bothered him. In fact, he was glad that they were growing closer. It would make bonding easier, simpler. He could tell that Olivia had settled into a routine, and she looked happier and more comfortable with each day that passed. She even seemed more relaxed around him, although he had begun to worry.
He hadn't been alone with her once. They hadn't had a single conversation since she'd moved in, without the other alphas present. He had begun feeling guilty, but he had been busy with work. He had an omega now, and he would ensure that she was spoiled. It was the only urge that he would allow his alpha to indulge. He wanted to pamper her, and he'd get the chance to do so on their date tomorrow.
Another soft noise came from upstairs, and Lloyd shifted in his chair. "This is torture." He confessed, dragging a hand over his mouth. "Her scent is driving me insane."
Micah shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest. "It's your own fault. You should've taken a day off."
Lloyd growled, irritated. He had held himself together by a thread at the dinner table the other night, with Olivia watching. He hadn't wanted to scare her, but he wouldn't let either of them belittle him in front of her. It was disrespectful to the image of their pack, because what kind of omega would want to bond with a divided pack?
"You shouldn't have argued with me." He replied, frowning. "That meeting couldn't have been rescheduled."
"Whatever." Micah scoffed, while Lloyd grit his teeth.
It was an impossibly difficult task not to bark at him. He'd never understand, no matter how he explained it. He stood from the table, leaving Micah in the kitchen as he headed upstairs. He passed Garrett's room, listening to her sweet sounds, and locked himself in his bedroom. He tore at his tie, dragging his clothing off and discarding it across the floor.
His cock was still as stone, but he ignored the urge to touch himself. He squeezed his eyes shut, and waited until her gentle noises calmed down. Once the house was silent, he had fallen into fitful sleep.
The next morning, Lloyd woke before sunrise and went downstairs. His routine consisted of coffee, whether he was working or not. However, as soon as he entered the kitchen, his body tensed when the delicious scent of vanilla struck him hard. Olivia stood over the stove, pouring icing over piping hot cinnamon rolls, fresh from the oven. She wore an oversized shirt, long enough to know that it wasn't hers. No pants. His fingers itched, curling into fists.
He wasn't sure if the cinnamon scent that lingered on her was from the dessert, or Garrett. He had frozen where he stood, but her head turned over her shoulder as she scented him as well. Her eyes dragged down his shirtless chest, and lingered on the bulge in his pants. There was heat in her gaze, something that he hadn't seen from her before.
"Good morning," she hummed, her voice filled with sleep. "Do you like cinnamon rolls?"
"Yes." He forced himself to stand beside her as he made his coffee, inhaling through his mouth. "You're up early." He noted.
"I thought it'd be nice to get on your schedule for today." She didn't glance toward him as she spoke.
He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning on the countertop. He did have a busy day planned, and it would be easier if they got an early start. "I'd like to take you shopping today." He told her, and she finally turned to face him.
"Shopping?" Her eyes widened, but she didn't look thrilled as he'd hoped.
He swallowed his nerves as he nodded. "For your nest." He finished, and her lips parted in surprise.
"My nest?" Her scent grew deeper, and it lured him dangerously close to her. He needed to get a grip, otherwise he'd have her right there on the kitchen counter.
"Yes." He agreed, gulping down her perfumed, slick scent. "If you want all your alphas there, then Micah and Garrett can come with us."
She glanced behind them, towards the stairs, and stilled for several moments. She seemed to ponder the offer, but eventually shook her head. "I'd rather spend time with you, alone."
His chest swelled with pride, but there was an underlying fear as well. Micah and Garrett being there would ensure that he didn't lose control. He was an intense alpha, and if he lost himself to his rut with her, then there wouldn't be any chance of her getting away from him. He'd chase her, hunt her down, and he wouldn't let her escape. He'd have to be very careful with her.
