Remorse and Regrets

Chapter 46

"Ready?"

Ansh needn't need to turn around to know who it is. From the moment she had stepped onto the balcony , he was aware of her,even though his eyes were on the preparations happening down.

"Ansh...."

" I am nervous, Nandhu" he opened up his fears

" For what?"

The question was left unanswered but Nandhini was aware of the turmoil of her Ansh's heart just like it has been for the past half a decade.

She knew that he will not take a step back but she also wanted him to go forward with an untained mind.

Cupping his face between her palms, she made Ansh look into her eyes.

" We can't turn back the clock,  Ansh but yes, we could be here from this moment onwards. Don't let regret stand in the way of embracing our loved ones.... " Nandhini trailed off as sound of laughter hit their ears

Both their lips turned into a smile catching the site below.

"Yippppeeee.....Catch me if you can...." The sing song way in which their princess goaded Omkar was enough to give him an extra boost of energy to chase behind her.

"Eeeekkk....." Gauravi screamed  as she tried to escape .

Running around the workers, escaping from the near hit and miss. They surely were having the time of their life.

Everyone who was pry to their joy had a smile pasted on their lips too.

"In our insecurities , we forgot we were punishing the innocents"  Nandhini said pointing towards the duo.

Ansh gulped down the pain at the truth in the statement.

But before he could travel down the road of remorse, Nandhini again put a stop to it.

" It is not your fault....You were just hurt....Just like our Princess shows her displeasure , you also have the full right to be disappointed....No one could be blamed but....we all did our share of mistakes and it's high time we tread on the path of redemption....They DON'T need our guilt, Ansh...We just need to bring back the family that we once were"

" Will I be able to do that, Nandhu?"

" You are not alone..... In this relay race, do your part, the rest, other's too will carry.....and you already HAVE taken the first step by finally accepting who you are"

Until Nandhini voiced it out, Ansh didn't know how much he was in need of this pep talk.

With love shining in his eyes, he embraced his life in his arms.

" Thank you.... for always being there...."

"Ansh and Nandhu.... always and forever till eternity"

" Till eternity" he reiterated their promise as they stood cocooned in each other's warmth beneath the sky, exploding in fireworks.

" Everything should be perfect"

" Yes, Mam"

" And..." Sadhavi trailed off as her eyes clashed with that of Dhru's

They stood staring at each other until she realised they have an audience.

" You may leave" she said to the help who just scurried away sensing the awkwardness.

" Wait" Dhru called out as Sadhavi also turned  to leave.

She stopped but didn't look back.

Though there was an unnerving silence, Dhru didn't want the moment to end....It is pathetic. but what to do, it is rare for him to get Sadhavi alone nowadays.
