A/N: Happy Jimin day!

The anxious feeling tugging at one's heart is hard to miss.

Y/N felt the same way when she received a letter from the King of Mystbrook, A significant rival, her heart raced as her dainty fingers reached for the sealed emblem, tearing it apart revealed the paper with beautiful handwriting written in royal blue ink.

Y/N's eyes scanned through the paper, reading each word carefully as the anxiety in her chest grew with every word she read. Leaning back in her chair, Y/N rubbed her temples and left an exasperated sigh at the thought of what would happen next.

The King of Mystbrook, King Jung, had stated in the letter that he would be doing everything in his power to dominate the capital of New Dalrose, Emberlyn, the city which Y/N ruled. King Jung had a greedy obsession with power and wanted to rule over all of New Dalrose but Queen L/N would never let that happen especially after knowing what the people of Mystbrook go through everyday. Soon, Y/N flicked her eyes towards the door when a knock could be heard.

"Come in," as soon as those words rolled off her tongue, the door opened revealing a familiar tall figure with piercing dragon eyes, "Oh, Chancellor Kim, just the person I was about to look for, what brings you here?"  Y/N asked, slight relief visible on her face that she didn't have to go on a hunt to find her Chancellor.

"Was there anything you needed from me mam?" Chancellor Kim Namjoon asked, raising a brow.

"Actually yes, I would like for you to arrange a meeting with me, you, and Commander Jeon as soon as possible."

"I will have that done as soon as I can mam," Chancellor Kim said, his dark brown eyes swirling with confusion, yet he didn't question any further.

"Thanks."

"Of course, it's my duty."

"By the way, Chancellor, was a there particular reason you visited me?"

"Ah well I just came in here to give you the weekly report," Chancellor Kim said, leaning forward and placing a stack of paper on the oak table.

"I see, thanks for that."

"No problem, I shall take my leave now, I will be back soon along with Commander Jeon," Chancellor Kim spoke, bowing at the seated woman who nodded before exiting the room and letting the door click behind him.

Y/N reached out, grabbing the stack of papers Chancellor Kim left and untied the secured jute rope that held the papers together in place, her face was set in an unreadable expression as she flipped through the papers. Setting aside the report Y/N propped her elbow up on the oak table to support her chin that tenderly rested on her palm while glancing out the window where the evergreen branches and leaves of the tall majestic trees grazed against the fine glass of the window, a crisp, earthy scent seeping into the room through the tiny gaps the window created. Tearing her gaze away from the glass framework when she heard a creak from the door, Y/N furrowed her perfect brows in confusion before the corner of her lips curved into a small smile when she heard the voices outside .

"Jungko-I mean Commander Jeon! You're supposed to knock!" A voice hissed silently, receiving a small groan in return before there were rhythmic taps on the door to which Y/N responded with a small 'come in'

"Hello, boys," Y/N said, a glint of happiness present in her eyes when she saw the males who stood by each other, "shall we start with our meeting?" she asked raising a brow getting nods in return, "Take a seat." Y/N said shifting in her chair so she was comfortable, the two males quietly pulled up a chair in front of her with a straight face.

"Read this," Y/N said as she handed them letter she received.

"I..." Commander Jeon trailed off with a frown after reading the letter.

"That man has always been greedy for more power," Chancellor Kim said with a scoff while rolling his eyes.

"Right. Even after his grandfather gave him his own territory, he still wants more," Y/N agreed, bobbing her head up and down.

"He could attack anytime, we need to strengthen our guard around the castle," Commander Jeon claimed shrugging his shoulders.

"Mhm your right, he could even be planning to strike this second so Commander, I'll get you to assign more guards around the castle, while Chancellor Kim will warn the citizens to be cautious at all times and to be prepared to evacuate anytime."

"We would also need to stock up on our resources," Kim said, gesturing with his gloved hand.

"And artillery," Jeon added.

"I'll get our guards to do that," Y/N said, gliding her tongue over her chapped lower lip "and check with our financial minister to see how much money is available to use for the upcoming war."

"Should we acquire allies?" Chancellor Kim asked placing his gloved hand on the nape of his neck.

"No, not at the moment no, we're the Capital, we can't let it seem like we're not worth the position," Y/N said in a soft voice before Chancellor Kim agreed with her statement along with Commander Jeon.

"Would we accept ally proposals though?" Commander Jeon asked, his doe eyes never leaving Y/N's form.

"I...I suppose," Y/N answered fiddling with her fingers. "I think that's everything we needed to go through, if there's anything suspicious going on, report it to me as soon as possible. Meeting dismissed," Queen L/N concluded, sighing before both Commander Jeon and Chancellor Kim got up and lightly bowed at the woman superior to them before going towards the door,

"Do you think we would be able to win against King Jung?" Commander Jeon asked, his doe eyes flashing a look of fear while his gloved hand rested on the shiny golden doorknob.

"If we don't, the whole of New Dalrose will go down," Chancellor Kim said tenderly placing a comforting hand on Commander Jeon's shoulder.

"Don't worry, we will win against King Jung." Queen L/N reassured them with a confident expression.
