01. Level 8 Neighbour

"Which level, Miss?"

A man with a deep voice asked as I entered the lift. I look up to see an unfamiliar young man smiling at me. "Um.... Level six, please. Thanks," I said as I smiled in return, looking at the floor of the lift afterwards. I don't think I have seen him here before? He must've just shifted in. I didn't bother trying to ask if he was a new resident here. I just hummed along to the music that was playing in my ears.

The lift stopped at level six. I left the lift and I noticed that the man in the lift was staring at me. Creepy, isn't it? And again, I didn't want it to bother me, so I just left and walked towards my apartment door. As I unlocked the door, his image came into my mind.

Why was he staring at me? What does he want?

The thought of it was very disturbing. The fact that I didn't know him at all and he was already staring at me like that. Thank the heavens that I wasn't raped. I thought that if I had the chance to see him again I'd ask for his particulars. You know, his name, age and which apartment he lives in. He could be staying above me but I may not know. I guess it's best to ask.

Thursday morning. I pressed for the lift. I was all prepared for University. I was excited to make new friends and start afresh. The lift came from level 8 and I was shocked to see that the man from before was in the lift. "Oh, its you again... Hey," I greeted as I cooly entered the lift, assuring myself that this lift ride would be just fine. "Hello," he greeted back. I have to admit that his voice was attractive. Husky and deep. "I don't think I have seen you around. Are you new here? As in like, did you just shift in?" I asked. "Yeah, like a few days ago. It's nice to meet you, my name is Kim Taehyung, and yours?" he asked me. "Y/FN," I said. I gave him my full name as it was only polite for him to address me that way. It was our first proper meeting, afterall.

"Well uh... I have to get going," I broke the silence as soon as we reached the first level. "I can't possibly be late on my first day in University." I chuckled. "I'll see you around, then."

Woah.... what was that back in there? He sounded really nice and friendly. Maybe I should befriend him?

Kim Taehyung and I walked to the exit together then went separate ways. He was dressed in a formal manner. I'm assuming he works for a company? I have no idea. I was just making my way towards South Korea University, also known as SKU. Recently, I graduated from high school. I will be taking law classes in SKU and I'm pretty excited! Especially when Seona is attending the same University as I am.

I arrived at SKU and I stopped by the gate to observe the architecture of the school in awe. It was huge and from where I was standing, I could see that the pillars were carved with intricate details. Wow... The architect must have done alot of thinking whilst planning the layout of the building. I was about to reach for my ringing phone when someone bumped into my shoulders, dropping her books afterwards.

"I'm sorry!" she said as she kneeled on the floor to collect her books. I kneeled down to help her as well. "It's okay," I answered with a smile. I dusted off the dirt from one of her books and got to know that her name was Park Sera. "Your name is Park Sera?" I asked. "That's a really nice name," I continued. "Oh um yeah, haha, thanks!" she thanked me with a smile as she got up. "I better get going! See you around campus!" she grinned as she walked away. I watched her go as I went to pick up my cellphone that was on the floor. I unlocked it and on my screen it stated:

2 missed calls from "my best bitch ❤ (A/N: 'my best bitch' refers to Seona)"

I decided to call her back.

"Ya! Where are you? You said to meet me at the main hall!" she screamed over the phone. I was only able to let out a laughter. I knew how impatient she was. "You have no chill, Seona. Hold on. I just arrived. Where are you now?" I asked. "I went to grab some snacks at the cafeteria, hehe." she laughed cheekily. I could hear her munching on something over the phone. "Are you eating cheese puffs?" I asked. "What do you think?" she chuckled. "Oh my god," I said.

Cheese puffs has been our favourite snack since Year 1 in high school. We decided to give it a try eversince it was introduced in the cafeteria. And boy, we didn't regret anything. It has that distinct salty and savory flavour that the both of us go crazy for.

"You're eating cheese puffs in the morning though, isn't that fattening?" I asked as I made my way to the cafeteria. "Shut up, bitch. Anytime is good for me to have these. Now would you please hurry your ass over to the cafeteria? I don't have all day to wait for you," she said as she stuffed more cheese puffs into her mouth. "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming. I'm going to hang up, see you soon!" I said as I ended the call.

The campus was so huge that I even got lost while making my way to the cafeteria. I looked and sounded stupid asking for help from teachers, but thank goodness I am here at the cafeteria. "Seona!" I called as I ran to her who had her arms open wide. I hugged her tight. "Gosh, I miss you." I said as I loosened my embrace. "How was your trip to the States over the summer break?" I asked. "It was great, but I'm sure summer break would've been better if I had spent it with you," she said as she took a gulp of water. "Aw you miss me too," I winked and teased her. Seona isn't the kind to show affection even towards her close friends, let alone me.

"Shut up... Where is your class?" she asked. "I'm not sure myself, I even got lost while making my way here." I said as I scratched my neck. "You're so stupid," Seona said as she facepalmed herself. I grinned in embarrassment. This was the main reason why we are the best of friends. We've never felt insulted or offended when we teased each other.

RIIIIINNG!

The bell rang, and it was a sign that we should get going. "Are we going back home together?" I asked. "That goes without saying, stupid. I better go now, see you at the front gate!" she pat my left shoulder and walked off.

I walked into law class and saw a bunch of nerds sitting at the corner of the classroom. I settled myself into an empty seat near the door. The teacher then came in and introduced himself to us. His name is Mr. Kang, and he seems like a really nice teacher.

Although it was my first day, I dreaded school. Maybe it's because of the difference in environment. Maybe it's because I had expected University to be alot better than high school. But it was the same. We basically learn all day every day.

It was finally the end of Day 1, and I rushed to the gate, eager to leave the school as soon as possible. I saw Seona waiting for me at the side of the gate and I noticed the man who stood infront of her.

Kim Taehyung?

Eh? What is he doing here?

I walked to Seona but my eyes couldn't stop looking at him. Just as we were about to walk off, Kim Taehyung was waving and smiling at someone who came running towards him.

"Taehyung oppa!" she called as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
