The next week, Faye found herself packing for a business trip to the Philippines. As much as she was excited about the opportunity, the thought of being away from Yoko made her heartache. They had grown so close, and the idea of even a few days apart felt daunting.

"Don't worry, Faye," Yoko said, trying to sound cheerful as she helped Faye pack. "We'll make it work. Plus, you'll be back before you know it."

Faye sighed, zipping up her suitcase. "I know. I just wish you could come with me."

Yoko wrapped her arms around Faye from behind, resting her chin on her shoulder. "Me too. But hey, we can video call every night, right?"

Faye smiled, turning to embrace Yoko. "You're right. We'll make it work."

After a long flight, Faye arrived in Manila and checked into her hotel. The city was bustling with life, but she couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness. That evening, she settled into her room and set up her laptop for a video call with Yoko.

As soon as Yoko's face appeared on the screen, Faye felt a rush of relief and joy. "Hey, Yo. I miss you already."

Yoko's smile was warm and comforting. "I miss you too, Faye. How's Manila?"

"It's beautiful, but it's not the same without you," Faye admitted, her voice soft.

Yoko chuckled. "Flatterer. Tell me about your day."

They spent the next hour talking about their days, sharing stories and laughter. Despite the distance, the connection between them felt as strong as ever.

"I wish I could hug you right now," Faye said wistfully.

Yoko's eyes softened. "Me too, Faye. But just think, every day apart is one day closer to being together again."

The next day, Faye attended a business meeting with local artists and gallery owners. The discussions were engaging, and she found herself immersed in the vibrant art scene of Manila. During a break, she stepped outside to get some fresh air.

"Excuse me, are you Faye Malisorn?" a voice asked from behind her.

Faye turned to see a woman in her early thirties with a friendly smile. "Yes, I am. Do we know each other?"

The woman laughed. "Not directly. My name is Mia, and I'm a friend of Yoko's. She mentioned you were coming to the Philippines for business."

Faye's eyes widened in surprise and delight. "Really? What a small world! It's great to meet you, Mia."

Mia nodded, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Yoko and I go way back. She told me a lot about you. She seems happy."

Faye felt a warm glow in her chest. "I'm happy too. It's nice to meet someone who knows Yoko."

That evening, Faye couldn't wait to tell Yoko about her encounter with Mia. They video-called as usual, and Faye recounted the story with excitement.

"Small world, huh?" Yoko said, her smile broadening. "Mia's great. I knew she'd find you somehow."

"It's so nice to meet someone who knows you here," Faye said, her voice softening. "It makes me feel closer to you."

Yoko's expression turned tender. "I'm glad, Faye. And I'm so proud of you for everything you're doing there."
