- julia -I couldn't move, just standing there looking at him as he approaches me, he looks nervous whilst we make eye contact.
I'm the one who broke the silence. "You smoke?" I say softly, confusion obvious in my voice. Dean was the last one I expected to smoke. He wasn't the type of a bad guy or someone that does smoking or drugs or anything bad.
Something on his face changed, it's like he just got caught, he passes his fingers through his hair nervously. "Yes" he mutters under his breath, if I didn't pay attention enough, I wouldn't catch it.
I nod my head slowly looking at the ground beneath me. I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable about it, because it's up to him if he wants to smoke or not, yet my expression was enough to make the situation awkward.
"You know... I don't think it's good for you" the words slipped out of my mouth uncontrollably, and that was the last thing I wanted to say. But there's no way back.
His face is blank, he nods his head breathing heavily. "Yeah.. i know, it's hard to stop" he breathes, stepping on the concrete floor across from me. I nod. Not trying to push it.
"Why did you come?" I say changing the topic and asking him the only question that lingers my mind for now. Because as I remember, he said that he didn't like the host of the party.
"What?" He frowns, putting his hands in his pockets.
"You said you don't like him, and 'him' appears to be Antonio, so why did you come?" I explain slowly, wanting him to answer truthfully.
He looks at me a little longer before tearing his eyes from me and looking down. "Well.." he swallows, passing his fingers through his hair.
"I don't know.. i just did, not a big deal." He confirms, the light from the light pole is shining against his side which makes him more attractive. His low-set eyebrows is perfectly straight, such a perfect masculine feature. His jawline is ready to cut off my finger if i ever touch it.
Not satisfied with his answer i walk passing him towards the gate without saying anything. I feel him following behind before he speaks. "Going home?"
I shake my head, "taking a walk". I just wanted to take a walk around, in view of the fact that this is such an amazing area. Tall trees, flowers everywhere, bunch of villas are scattered along the sidewalks on both sides.
"You coming?" I ask smiling at him, he matches my steps when he catches up with me.
He nods "it's late" glancing at my cheeks, i frown wondering why does he always look there.
We start walking side by side, our hands occasionally brushing because of our proximity. I look around at the perfect scenery. a beautiful purple flower catches my eyes. I gasp making my way straight towards it.
I pick it carefully admiring it with an awe, a genuine smile splattered across my face. I turn my head towards Dean to my right whilst standing up. "Look my favorite color!" i bounce on my feet sniffing it.
He doesn't say anything, just standing there looking at me, so i break the silence. "It's pretty, isn't it?".
"Yeah, Pretty" he says slowly, i look up at him, he was staring at me but he averts his eyes to the flower as soon as i looked at him. I smiled.
