Ji-eun's jealousy had reached a boiling point. Watching Sky and Yuna together, growing closer with each public appearance, was driving her to desperation. The isolation and frustration had warped her once calm demeanor, turning her into someone she barely recognized.
Late one night, alone in her apartment, Ji-eun's anger bubbled over. She logged into a private online forum under an alias, creating a thread that accused Yuna of stealing Sky away from her fans. She manipulated photos and twisted facts to paint Yuna as an opportunist who had deceived Sky and the public. The response was immediate and explosive.
"Yuna is nothing but a fame-hungry wannabe!" one comment read.
"She's ruining Sky's career and life!" another added.
The hate group grew rapidly, fueled by Ji-eun's relentless posts and her ability to sway the emotions of devoted fans. She encouraged them to voice their discontent loudly and publicly, orchestrating a campaign of harassment and vitriol against Yuna. She even went as far as leaking Yuna's location, knowing the dangerous territory she was treading into.
Yuna was unaware of the brewing storm until it hit her with full force. She was walking home from a meeting when a group of anti-fans ambushed her. Eggs flew through the air, smashing against her clothes and hair. She tried to shield herself, but the barrage was relentless.
"Leave Sky alone!" one of them shouted.
"You don't deserve him!" another screamed.
Tears stung Yuna's eyes as she stumbled away, trying to escape the mob. She managed to reach a nearby shop, where the owner quickly ushered her inside and locked the door. Panting and shaking, Yuna collapsed into a chair, her heart racing.
Sky was in the middle of a rehearsal when he received the frantic call from Mr. Kim. "Sky, Yuna's been attacked. You need to get to her now."
Sky's blood ran cold. Without a second thought, he grabbed his jacket and ran out of the building, his heart pounding. He found Yuna at the shop, her clothes soiled and her face streaked with tears. The sight of her, so vulnerable and hurt, filled him with a fierce protectiveness.
"Yuna," he whispered, kneeling beside her. "I'm so sorry."
Yuna looked up at him, her eyes red and swollen. "Why are they doing this, Sky? What did I do?"
Sky's jaw tightened. He has someone in mind who was behind this, but he couldn't bring himself to voice it. "It's going to be okay," he said instead, helping her to her feet. "Let's get you home."
The ride back to Yuna's apartment was silent, but the air was thick with unspoken words. Sky's mind raced, torn between his duty to protect Yuna and his complicated feelings for Ji-eun. He knew he couldn't let this continue.
Once inside her apartment, Sky helped Yuna clean up. As he wiped the egg from her hair, he felt a pang of guilt and anger. "You shouldn't have to go through this," he said quietly.
Yuna sighed, leaning into his touch. "This isn't your fault, Sky."
Sky nodded, his resolve hardening. "I know. We need to address this."
The next day, Sky and Yuna met with Mr. Kim to devise a plan. They decided to hold a press conference to address the harassment and set the record straight about their relationship.
At the press conference, Sky stood beside Yuna, his expression serious. The room was packed with reporters, cameras flashing incessantly.
"I want to start by saying that what happened to Yuna is unacceptable," Sky began, his voice steady but firm. "She has been a victim of unwarranted and harmful behavior that no one should have to endure."
Yuna took a deep breath, stepping forward. "I understand that our relationship has been a shock to many of you, but the truth is, we've been working hard to maintain our privacy and professionalism. What happened to me was frightening, but I'm not here to play the victim. I'm here to ask for understanding and respect."
Sky continued, his gaze unwavering. "I want to make it clear that Yuna has not stolen anything or anyone. Our relationship is based on mutual respect and understanding. We ask that our fans show the same respect towards her."
The press conference seemed to have an immediate effect, with many fans expressing regret and support for Yuna online. However, Ji-eun's hate group remained active, their resentment not easily quelled.
In her apartment, Ji-eun watched the press conference with a mixture of anger and jealousy. She felt betrayed, her carefully constructed plan to drive a wedge between Sky and Yuna unraveling before her eyes. Her anger blinded her to the consequences of her actions, pushing her further down a path of self-destruction.
As the days passed, Sky and Yuna continued to face public scrutiny, but the attacks lessened. They found strength in each other, their bond growing stronger through the adversity. Sky couldn't deny the admiration he felt for Yuna's resilience and sincerity, qualities that stood in stark contrast to Ji-eun's toxic behavior.
One evening, as they sat together in Yuna's apartment, Sky looked at her with a newfound appreciation. "I don't know how you do it, Yuna. You've been incredible through all of this."
Yuna smiled softly. "I've had good support. And despite everything, I believe in what we're doing."
Sky took her hand, a silent promise passing between them. They were in this together, and they would face whatever came their way as a team.
But in the shadows, Ji-eun's bitterness festered, her desperation driving her to more extreme measures. She was determined to regain control, no matter the cost. And as the lines between love and obsession blurred, the stakes grew higher for everyone involved.
