Finally keeping a sword against Akbar's neck, Prince Salim sighed in relief.

Akbar had the most confused eyes ever. One showed pride as a parent for his son defeating him and the other showed disappointment as a warrior and a king.

Because the war decision was based on the result which was clear since the very beginning.

If Akbar won, Salim would leave Anarkali and Akbar would bury her alive.

And if Salim won, he would marry Anarkali and make her Chief empress Nadira and nobody would revolt against it.

Maybe it was the fear that turned in passion when Salim realised not only he would loose his beloved but she would loose her life too and nobody would remember her in order to not so called shame a crown prince for loving a princess.

Her name would be erased from the pages of his life book and his heart won't be beating anymore to make the world feel the biggest truth and her soulful existence.

Salim was the happiest. He got his love and now he could declare proudly in front of the world.

Yes! He loved a courtesan.

And he had no shame in loving one. He was satisfied in having her.

He looked away sadly as his father was chained to declare his win. The soldiers made Akbar sit on the horse and Salim turned to the source of his favourite sound, her anklets.

The beautiful woman who had his life at her feet came there sobbing. She couldn't believe he won.

She was scared.

She wasn't scared for her life but she was scared of loosing him. And she knew now she won't.

But what pained her even more was because of her father and son fought. Who would want that?

She'd be rather buried alive.

Salim narrowed his eyes at her scoldingly knowing her thoughts well and she just looked down.

Holding her soft hand in his firm and protective one, he gave a light kiss on her forehead.

She closed her eyes in bliss.
