Flashback:I was walking down an aisle of target, just randomly putting stuff into my card.
I don't usually come here. This one is a bit far from my house and there is a departmental store in my area. But I got bored of the video games and took my car and started roaming randomly around the neighbourhood and ended up here.
When I turned around a corner I saw a child throwing tantrums at her mother.
She was screaming "Noooo.. I want it nooowww.."
"Baby, come on. They will restock it tomorrow. We will come tomorrow after school and buy it" I heard her pleading voice.
I could only see her profile but she was beautiful. So I stood there, like checking out a product to not look like a creep.
"Nooo you promiseddd..." the baby started crying.
Awww...
The mother tried to reach out to her but she patted her hands away.
"I know and I'll get it for you. They just don't have it right now, tomorrow you can have it" the mother pleaded.
"Noo.. you lied to me.. I don't want you" the baby said pouting.
The mother looked a bit heartbroken.
"Baby, please. Mommy is sorry" she said.
"No, I don't want momma" the baby said.
I can see the tears starting to form on the corner of the mother's eyes and I couldn't take it anymore.
I pushed my cart towards them.
"Then I will take momma with me" I said to the child.
The child looked up at me through her tears and the mother gave me a small acknowledging smile.
Wow. She is pretty. Like reallllllyyyy pretty.
"You don't want momma right?" I asked the baby.
When she didn't respond I took a soft hold on the mother's hand and said "Come momma, she doesn't want you, I'll take you to my home and take good care of you" I smiled at her.
She blushed a little and looked back at her baby who was wiping her tears.
"Let's go momma. I'll buy you some popsicles on the way" I said and hung my arm over her shoulder and pulled her.
We wouldn't even have taken two steps, the baby came running and hugged to her momma's legs.
She chuckled and lifted her baby and the baby cuddled to her neck, hiding her face from me.
That made me laugh.
"She's usually not like this. She is not one of those adamant kids. I don't know what happened today. Maybe she just really needed the crayon set" she explained to me.
"I mean, hey, they are kids. Kids are supposed to be like this. They won't settle down" I said.
"That's true" she said, nodding.
"I'm Lana" she extended her hand.
"I'm Avril, nice to meet you" I shook her hand.
"Likewise. Daisy, say HI to Avril" she said to her baby.
Daisy shook her head without looking up
"It's okay, leave her be. She's probably embarrassed" I said in a low voice and she chuckled
