The hour wasted after was nothing less of a good time. Proceeding in Cooper passed out on the tile floor. I poke his arm from my position on the couch. He groans but doesn't give any indication he plans to get up. I feel the smile on my face as I gaze upon him. Maybe I didn't need the revenge. Perhaps I just needed Cooper. Had he been here all this time and I had been too blind to go and search for him? He has changed in the many years we have been apart. We both have.

I stand to my feet and begin to look around the building for anything I could stash away in my bag. Ammo, some food, water, and of course some of the vials and pills. I wander to the back finding more junk. Ruminating through the past owner's personal things I found an old tape. None other than the movie, A Man From Deadhorse. I smile as I skip down the hall towards Cooper.

I slide over his middle. Settling right over him. I walk my fingers up his chest. "Cooper." I kiss up his neck, earning a low grumble from him. "I found something." I place my hands on his face, begging to trace the scared surface.

Suddenly the doors open and loud footsteps emerge from the entrance. I look back with panic. I smack Cooper in the face lightly, "Wake up, Coop." The footsteps grew as I struggled to wake him. "Coop now is not the time." I try to drag him but he doesn't budge.

I'm a spit second I chose my fate. I ducked behind the aisles. I watch as two men walk into the establishment, viewing the destruction. Their eyes land on Cooper. My breath heightens. I watch his frame begin to stir. He pushes himself up on his elbows chuckling. "Oh, I'm sorry fellas. This party is only for two. Ain't that right, honey?" Cooper looks around the area. At a glance, he doesn't see me anywhere. His jaw tightens and his eyes return to the unwanted visitors.

"Fuck," I mutter under my breath as I see my weapons perched behind the couch out of my reach. One of the men bends down and sneers at Cooper. "Destroying a legitimate business? That's illegal around these parts." Cooper looks up at the two men unintimidated. "Says who?" The man smirks, "The government." He brings the end of his gun down on Cooper's head before forcing him to get up. They tie his hands together. As they do he searches every inch of the store his eyes can reach. He shakes his head, muttering under his breath as his eyes frantically drift with confusion.

I watch as they haul him away. I don't take a second to grab my things in a rush. I gather vials, and other various kinds of drugs in my bag. I take notice of the discarded hat on the table. I flip it on my head and place my bag over my shoulder. "I'm coming for you, Coop."

My feet skid across the sand, my mind wandering with each passing second. Was she there at all? Have I gone too far to where the hallucinations of her are that vivid? Either way, fake or not... she is beautiful. The clenching in my chest was tight. Her eyes. God her eyes were just as bright as the last day I saw her. She hasn't aged a day. Just as perfect and persevered as a framed photograph.

Just any other normal day only to end in disaster. Police tape surrounded the house while the red and blue flashing lights painted the walls. "What happened? Where's my wife?" A sheriff places his hands on my chest preventing me from going into the house. My nerves build, and I push past him in a rush. "(Y/n)!" The horrific sight had me stop at the door. My blood rushed from my body as I saw the scene. The place we had made our home was completely ransacked. Lamps broken, books damaged with loose pages littering the sticky wood floors. Sticky... the crimson-colored puddles cause me to buckle my knees. I'm grabbed by my shoulder and hauled off to the station. No answers to the hundreds of questions I had.

They drag my ass through a shack. Upon entry, I see a familiar face. He sits at the table all fat and happy as he chucked, "Well, shit." I raise my brows, "Why, Sorrel Booker." The deputy pushes me down in the chair across from Sorrel. "I heard it was a ghoul that fսckеd up that Super Duper Mart. Nobody told me it was the ghoul." My reputation still precedes me. The smirk grew on my face.
