Violet couldn't sleep that night. She lay tossing and turning all night thinking about what she's going home to.
Early the next morning she heard a soft knock on her door.

George: You awake?
Violet: Yeah, I'm coming

She put on a hoodie and went to the door.

Violet: Everything okay?
George: I have to head to the circuit earlier than expected today. Will you be okay with catching a lift from Lando? Or you can come with me but that's in the next fifteen minutes.
Violet: Oh- Uh- yeah I think I'll catch a lift with Lando. He doesn't mind right?
George: Not at all. So I'll see you soon.
Violet: See you soon

Once she closed the door she decided to get ready for the day, putting on a simple dress with minimal make up and a high ponytail.
Soon enough she heard a knock.

Lando POV
————————
When George came to my room early this morning I knew it wasn't for nothing. He asked me to give Evans a lift to the circuit because he had to be there earlier than normal for a meeting.
I would never say no to the lift but I must admit the thought of it is daunting. There's something magnetic about Evans and I can't deny the pull forever. I've tried so hard but I'm coming off as reserved and borderline rude but it's the only way I can keep myself from giving in. She seems so perfect and as much as I enjoy her company, George got to her first and I can't change that.

I decided I had to face the music and get up to go fetch her in her room. I walked over to her door and knocked twice before a faint "come in" was heard.
Opening the door I saw Evans in a beautiful but simple dress. The pale purple suited her light skin perfectly.

Lando: Hey
Violet: Hey
Lando: Ready to go?
Violet: Yeah, thanks for taking me
Lando: You're welcome, let's go then

The walk to my car was painfully silent. I knew if I entertained conversation I wouldn't be able to stop and talking to her would turn from minutes to hours.

Lando and Violet shared few words on the drive to the circuit. Violet couldn't help but feel upset about this so decided to take matters into her own hand.

Violet: So you know I was thinking and... Quadrant could use some upgrades
Lando: Oh?
Violet: Personally, a manager can't be so quiet
Lando: Was that a dig at me?
Violet: Did it sound like one?
Lando: Yeah
Violet: Good, it was. This is not the Lando I see on screen. You need to talk more
Lando: Oh? Okay, someone woke up sassy... but you're a fan? Watching me and all?
Violet: Oh you have not seen me sassy and careful, anymore growth of your ego and it'll have outgrown you
Lando: Oh wow, hahaha. And about your sassiness... Don't tempt me to drive it out of you
Violet: It's safer if you don't

Lando and Violet laughed at this back and forth banter. Feeling proud of herself for breaking the ice, Violet looked out towards the entrance of the circuit.

Violet: You're not half as bad at driving as I expected
She winked at him
Lando: Excuse me? I don't see you driving
Violet: Why would I when I have a personal formula one driver chauffeur. Anyway, McLaren has been good to you. This year your car is powerful. I hope to see you win.
Lando: I thought you were a Mercedes fan. You know, being with George and all.
Violet: Oh uh- well, let's just say I have a soft spot for the underdogs.
Lando: Ah, so I can thank you for the win I'll get soon?
Violet: Careful, don't want my secret allegiance exposed

Lando looked over at her and laughed slightly. Seeing something flicker in her eyes for a moment he looked away before stopping the car.

Lando: We're here
Violet: Thanks Lan. See you later
Lando: See you Evans

Violet walked into George's driver room feeling lighter having gotten through to Lando. Like the ice was finally broken.

George: Someone seems happy
Violet: I think I got through to Lando. We spoke and even joked in the car on the way here
George: That's great love

Violet froze. Love?

George: Sorry. I didn't mean that.
Violet: It's okay. You're British. Can't blame you

He laughed it off and they spoke for a short while before FP3 began.
Violet sat back as she watched George climb into the car and off into track. She couldn't help but feel something about him she's not felt about someone before. There was an uneasiness to her though, but pushing these feelings aside she decided to enjoy the weekend further.
