~3rd Person POV~

That evening, the teenagers and their father sat on the edge of a cliff, sadly staring across the ocean and at the large orange sun. Their father sighed as he patted the twins. "Kids, you shouldn't let those things they said back there get to you."

Hercules sighed and stood up, looking between his sad sister and concerned father. "But Pop, they're right. W-We are freaks. We try to fit in, we really do. We just can't." He sighed, staring at the ground. (Y/n) sighed and stood up, standing beside him. "Sometimes... I feel like, like we really don't belong here. Like we're supposed to be... someplace else." The girl muttered, looking at the old man.

The man stood up and approached them, resting a hand on their shoulders. "Kids..." The two just sighed and walked away. "I know it doesn't make any sense," Hercules muttered.

They stopped at the edge of the cliff, watching the pink and orange sunset. The redhead boy picked up a pebble and tossed it across the ocean. "I have often dreamed of a far-off place, where a great, warm welcome will be waiting for us."

The wind picked up, rustling their tunics and hair. "Where the crowds will cheer when they see our face, and a voice keeps sayin' this is where we're meant to be." (Y/n) added, relishing in the sunlight in front of them.

Once it was night, the teenagers walked through a forest. "We will find our way, we can go the distance." The two climbed up a tree and stood at the top. "We'll be there someday." Hercules sang. "If we can be strong." (Y/n) added.

"I know every mile, will be worth our while..." She sang, staring at the stars in the sky. "We would go 'most anywhere to feel like we belong.

They returned home to their awaiting parents, a small smile on the teens' faces. The grown-ups looked at them with sad looks, causing the twins to grow concerned. "Hercules, (Y/n)... there's something your mother and I have been meaning to tell ya." Their father stated.

They sat in front of the fire, confused looks on the twins' faces at their father's confession. "But if you found us, then where did we come from? Why were we left here?" Hercules asked the man, sitting beside his equally as confused sister.

Their mother unwrapped a cloth, and their medallions were revealed to the two. "This was around your necks when we found you. It's the symbol of the gods." They stared at the lightning bolt on their medallions. (Y/n) lept up and looked at her brother with a smile. "This is it! Don't you see? Maybe they have the answers!" Hercules stood up with a smile too.  "We'll go to the temple of Zeus and--" They noticed their caretakers' sad looks.  "Ma, Pop, you're the greatest parents anyone could have, but.. we-we gotta know."

That morning, the teenagers stood outside their parents' house, saying their goodbyes. Their mother wrapped a shawl around the girl's shoulders and pressed a kiss to her forehead. The father handed Hercules a bag. The four hugged one last time and the teenagers started their new journey up a hill, ready to find out more about their real lives.

"We are on our way, we can go the distance!" The two sang in unison.

"We don't care how far, Somehow we'll be strong." They along cliffs, flower fields, and valleys to get to their new location.

"We know every mile, will be worth our while." They walked through a thunderstorm, the lightning making a sign pointing to a temple visible.

"We would go 'most everywhere to find where we belong." They walked through a pathway, the temple now seen at the top of a cliff.

The two walked in, looking at the dark and empty walls. They stopped before a large statue of Zeus, his posture straight and commanding. The teenagers shared a look before taking out their medallions, noticing the print on their medals and Zeus' robe matched.

The two sighed and got to their knees in prayer. "Oh mighty Zeus, please, hear us and answer our prayer." The two muttered. Hercules looked up at the statue. "I need to know: Who are we? Wh-where do we belong?"

The wind started to pick up, alerting the teenagers. Lightning strikes the statue of Zeus and all the braziers are lit into flames. The teens peered up at the statue as it came to life, smiling down at his children.

"My children. My little (Y/n) and Hercules..." He reached a hand down towards his children. (Y/n) and Hercules paused before screaming, pushing each other out of the way to get towards the exit. Zeus picked up the kids with a laugh. "Hey, hey, hey, hold on kiddos! What's your hurry?" He chuckled. "After all these years is this a kind of hello to give your father?" The teens' heads poked out of his hands to look at the god. "F-father?" The two asked in unison, looking at each other.

Zeus lifted the two up to his face. "Didn't know you had a famous father, did you?" He asked, bringing his face closer. "Surprise!" He shouted, the force of his voice sending a wave of wind in their faces. He looked at his daughter. "Look how you've grown. Why you've got your mother's beautiful eyes..." He ran a finger over her face. He directed his attention towards his son. "And my strong chin. Hah!" Zeus lifted Hercules' chin in the air.

(Y/n) still looked confused as she looked at her apparent father. "I-I don't understand. If you are our father, that would make us a—"

"A god."

The twins looked at each other in surprise. "A god!" They shouted in surprise, sitting down to process.

Zeus shrugged and stood up, scaring the teens. "Hey, you wanted answers, and by thunder, you're old enough to know the truth."

Hercules looked up at his father sadly. "But why did you leave us on earth? Didn't you want us?" He asked and held his sister's hand.

Zeus smiled down at the two. "Of course we did. Your mother and I loved you with all our hearts." His smile turned into a scowl as he remembered what happened years ago. "But someone stole you from us and turned you mortal, and only gods can live on Mount Olympus."

(Y/n) looked at her father sadly. "And you can't do a thing?"

Zeus shook his head and pointed at his children. "I can't, but you can."

Hercules and (Y/n) looked at each other with hope before looking back up at their father. "R-really? W-what? We-We'll do anything." Hercules spoke up.

"Hercules, (Y/n), if you can prove yourself a true hero on Earth, your godhood will be restored!"

(Y/n) smiled at her brother. "A true hero. Great!" She deflated slightly. "Uh, exactly how do you become a true hero?"

"First, you must seek out Philoctetes, the trainer of heroes."

"Seek out Philoctetes. Right. We'll--" The two stepped away but ended up falling until Zeus caught them and sat the two on the ground.

"Whoa! Hold your horses! Which reminds me.." He whistled and a shooting star fell into the temple, and it transformed into a white pegasus with blue hair.

"Ha-ha! You probably don't remember Pegasus but you three go way back."

The teens looked at the animal with puzzled looks until Pegasus bonked Hercules on the head and licked (Y/n)'s cheek. The gods gasped and smiled, petting the animal. "Oh, Pegasus!"

"He is a magnificent horse. With the brain of a bird." Pegasus showed off until he grew confused at being called a bird.

Hercules helped his sister onto Pegasus before jumping onto the horse, the three flying around Zeus' head. "We'll find Philoctetes and become a true hero!"

"That's the spirit!"

"We won't let you down, father!" (Y/n) shouted, guiding Pegasus out of the temple, leaving their smiling statue of a father behind.

"Good luck, kids." He stated, the same lightning strike hitting him, turning him back into a rock.

The siblings took off into the sky, to search for Philactetes.

"We will beat the odds, we can go the distance!"

"We will face the world, fearless, proud and strong!"

"We will please the gods, we can go the distance."

"Till we find our hero's welcome right where we belong!"
