It's been eight years since I was reborn. It was a struggle to adapt and accept my new life and body. It was embarrassing when my new parents changed my diaper, and feeding time was even worse. I don't recommend it, but there was nothing I could do about it. However, I learned how to do sealing techniques and train my body like a ninja, just like Mom and Dad. They even let me unseal my ears and tail. It was weird at first because my tail would always break something. With my ears and tail out, I would get overstimulated since I had them sealed most of my life until now. But since Dad had Anbu guards placed around, I had to seal them back.

I sighed. "Sakato!" I heard Dad call. He appeared in a flash.

"Yes, Dad?" I wondered why he was here. Shouldn't he be with Mom as she was in labor right now?

"If your mother and I die, I want you to take care of your brother. Do you understand?"

"Wait, Dad, don't go!" I shouted at him, but he was already gone. No, no, no! This can't be happening already. I quickly grabbed my stuff from my closet and prepared for Naruto. Dad had a high chance of bringing both Mom and Naruto here, just like in the anime. The masked man known as Obito Uchiha was going to take Naruto and place paper-sealed bombs on his blanket. Dad would escape with Naruto and bring him to this safe house.

In what felt like no time at all, Dad popped up, shoved Naruto into my arms, and disappeared to grab Mom. I sighed. Naruto was crying loudly. I gently rocked him until he stopped crying. After that, everything else was a blur.

That day, I found myself in front of an altar. Even though I did not know its name correctly, my parents lay flat, lifeless, with massive holes through their chests. I couldn't do anything but cry. We were both crying. I felt so weak, drowning in sadness and despair.

Then the Hokage came in, dressed in his battle garb. He asked one of the Anbu to pick us up and bring us to his office. I had a blank stare, not doing anything as the Anbu with a cat mask held Naruto. I was picked up by an Anbu with a dog mask—I knew it was Kakashi holding me. We quickly arrived in the office.

The Hokage had something important to say to only me and Kakashi, so he had the other Anbu leave. Before that, they gave Naruto to Kakashi.

"Sakato and Kakashi," the Hokage said, "we can't let you adopt Naruto."

"Wait, why?" Kakashi and I began to protest.

"The reason why we can't let you adopt Naruto is because your parents' enemies might attack him. Naruto doesn't have the power to protect himself yet."

I could feel a bubble of anger coming off both Kakashi and me, but it vanished shortly after. We didn't say anything, but the Hokage continued speaking.

"So we must hide Naruto's true identity. Your brother will take his mother's last name. You, Sakato, will take your father's last name."

I didn't agree with this, but it was the only choice I had. "Yes, Hokage," I said bitterly.

"You can say goodbye to your brother for the last time and don't approach him until you're an Anbu."

"But—"

"No buts, Sakato."

"Fine." I said my goodbyes, and then Kakashi, or Dog, brought me to my empty house. He left after that, and I quickly ran to my room and cried myself to sleep.
