Chapter 2

As the train departs from Alverton. The woman takes her bag off her shoulder. She finds a nice spot by the window and places her bag on the table. She begins rooting through her bag looking for something.
She finds it. It is the postcard. She sighs searching for words and wondered what she was going to do when she reaches Manchester.
An hour or so later she reaches her destination. Realising she had been staring at the postcard for the entire journey and realising that she has arrived. She quickly puts away the postcard and gets off the train in a hurry.
She exits the station and heads straight for the town centre.
Meanwhile back in Alverton her Daughter Holly had arrived home from shopping with her Daughter Heidi. She struggles to take her shopping in and get Heidi in at the same time. "Mum?!" She looks around and sighs. She starts to put the shopping away when Heidi starts playing with a cupboard door. Suddenly Heidi falls over on her bottom and paperwork falls out. "Oh Heidi!! She cries exasperatedly. Holly moves Heidi out the way and puts her with her toys. She starts tidying up all the paperwork when one of the the paperwork catches her eye.

Mother- Adele Carling
Child- Holly Carling
Father- Sam Samwell
Mother's occupation- Federal Agent
Father's occupation- Unknown
She stares at her fathers name for a few moments then looks down the page. Questions are swirling inside her head this being one of them: How can they not know my fathers occupation?". She pockets the birth certificate and picks up the rest of the paperwork. She cannot bring herself to look at anymore of the paperwork so she puts it away back in the cupboard neatly as her daughter had found it and shuts the door. Unknown to her a small piece of paper falls out the paperwork onto the floor.
She quickly puts away the rest of the shopping and suddenly notices her daughter is holding a small piece of paper. She gently prises the paper from her daughter and distracts her with a toy. Holly takes a closer look at the paper and on it reads:
Hilary Johnson
Head of FBI

Holly thinks to herself:"So this must be Mum's Boss?". She gets out her phone and tries to call her mum. The phone rings and goes straight to voicemail. "It must be switched off." She smiles at Heidi happily playing and decides to call the number on the paper.
"Hilary Johnson speaking how can I help?". Holly breathes heavily "Hello my name is Holly Carling, I believe you know my mother."
There is a few moments silence. "Hello are you still there?"
"Yes yes sorry I'm still here." She continues "I'm just surprised to hear from you that's all and yes I do know your mother". Holly starts to speak but Hilary interrupts her "Your mother used to bring you in all the time as a baby."
Holly smiles "I was actually wondering if you can help me?". "I see... What can I help you with?".
"I need you to help me track down my Mother...She's missing.
Hilary hesitates "Very well... Come to my office." Hilary continues "Do you know where the federal building is?"
Holly replies "Yes."
"Come to the third floor someone will direct you to my office."
"Okay and Hilary..."
"Yes Holly?".
"Thank you for helping me."
"Don't thank me yet." Hilary hangs up the phone.
Holly frowns "What on earth is going on today?" She looks at her daughter "Come on you, it's time for a road trip". She scoops her daughter up and buckles her up in the car. She gets in the drivers seat and takes a deep breath then drives off towards her destination.
