(I Skipped A Bit Sorry x)
The students are entering the Decathlon venue.
"Please be sure all cell phones are turned off." The moderator says. Ned hand his phone in to the security. "Thank you."
Peter is standing on the back of a trailer truck. A ringing tone is heard in the background.
"Karen, you have to get me to Decathlon as fast as possible." He yells
"Sure thing. Just tell me where it is." Karen says
"Right across the street from the Washington Monument." He tells her. Peter holds his phone to his ear.
"Hey, it's Ned. Leave a message." The voice says
"Ned, call me back! The glowy thing is a bomb!" Peter yells
At the Decathlon, the students are scribbling. We pan down to see the purple energy core glowing in Ned's pocket.
"There's a vehicle approaching on your right." Peter grunts, and climbs on top of the cargo.
"We have now entered sudden death." Abe, Ned, MJ, Stas, and Flash are all seated at a table with nervous faces. "The next correct answer wins the championship." MJ hits the answer bell with a bored, impassive look.
"Midtown Tech?" The moderator asked
"Zero." MJ stated in a 'duh' tone
"That is correct. Midtown takes the championship!" He says. Stas yells with joy jumping and hugging her best friend. More Midtown students pile in for a group hug.
The Midtown crew are now walking toward the Washington Monument.
"We won!" Charlie cheered
"You guys, I am so proud of you." Liz smiled wrapping an arm around Stas and Abe.
"Told you we didn't need Peter." Flash said
"Flash, you didn't answer a single question." Ned said
"Yeah you just sat there terrified. You looked more scared then my Uncle Steve on Halloween." Stas laughed. MJ stands looking at the Washington monument with a book in her hands.
"Taking it all in, Michelle?" He asks
"Oh, yeah, I just... um, I don't really want to celebrate something that was built by slaves." She says
"Oh, I'm sure the Washington Monument wasn't built by-" Mr. Harrington looks up at the monument. A park ranger wobbles his hand as a confirmation to Michelle's words. Mr. Harrington purses his lips and walks away. "Okay. Enjoy your book."
"Thanks." She says sitting down
Peter swings on top of a bus. Peter and Ned finally reach each other on the phone.
"Oh, Ned, you're alive!"
Ned is at the Washington Monument, about to get a security check.
"Peter, are you okay?" He whispers
"Ned, Ned, where's the glowy thing, the glowy thing?" Peter asks
"Don't worry, it's safe. It's in my backpack." Ned puts his backpack down on the conveyor belt for an X-ray security scan.
