Small town run away

Part 6

Its been about 10 minutes since I started to run. I slow down and stop finally catching my breath. I see a dollar general still open. Before I left I grabbed my bag without anyone noticing. And now I'm standing in front of a dollar store. I walk into the building and go towards the small collection of clothing. I grabbed black pair of leggings, a simple shirt and a random sweater and a pair of white shoes and lastly a pair of brown eye contacts then quickly paid for it and left.

"Thank you miss" I tell her as I exit the store.

There was another store still open and I entered. As I walk down the aisles I see hair dye. My hair is black so I grab a bleach and a box of blonde hair dye and I grabbed a bigger bag. There was a bus station not far from the store.

When I arrived there are not many people there and I entered the restrooms and dyed my hair, changed my clothes, and put in my contracts. I look into the mirror and I see a person I don't recognize. Good i cant recognize myself so no one should recognize me. I finally put everything I had on before into the new bag.Before i exit the restroom i start messing with my voice finding a voice my family wouldn't recognize. When I find a voice I walk out of the restrooms. I quickly buy a ticket and the bus arrives right as I walk over to the road. I board the bus sightly and and put my headphones in and fall asleep.

As i wake up i see were in a small town and its daytime now then another five minutes go by and we arrive at our stop. After i get off, I see a small dinner and enter. The dinner is cute it gives off a soft, light, fantasy world vibe.

"Hello dear" i look over and there a waitress waving and smiling at me

"Hi miss" i take a seat at the bar and she hands me a menu

"It looks like you haven't slept in a while" she says to me

I let out a sign, "i only slept for a few hours last night and im new to town i just came in this morning" i explain to her

"Here whatever you want its on the house" she says to me

"Thank you ill have a coffee and an eggs, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant please" i ask

"Of course coming right up" she says as then she starts to turn back around "but i feel like you have a story dear" she asks me

"I do and im guessing you want to know" i say to her

"Yes i want to know id you dont mind" she asks

I let out a sign, "not here too many people"

She thinks for a moment, "ok dear give me a second ill wrap up your order and we will go to my house" she says to me

I look at her confused, "don't you have to work" i ask

She lets out a laugh, "I own this dinner so we will go to my house" she says "What's your name" i ask her

"My dear im ruby" she tells me "and who are you"

"I'm Kayce" i tell her

"Well nice to meet you kayce"

She turns back into the kitchen. A few minutes later she appears with a paper bag in her hand and two coffees to go. She grabs my arm and starts to guide me out of the diner and we get in her car and she starts to drive in complete silence maybe 5 minutes and she starts to pull into what i guess is her driveway and i look up to see we have arrived to classic Tudor household which makes sense in a small town but the house looks cozy and sweet.

"well we're here" ruby says and we get out of the car. The outside of the house is looks we just stepped into a fairy tale theres a fence around the front yard and there flowers all around the yard with a little pond with ducks. Ruby walks towards the back of the house and their another gate surrounding the backyard. The backyard is beautiful, there is a pool, a garden, a picnic table, a few tree swings and a little dog house. We go through gate and sit down at the picnic table. Ruby starts taking out the food we had got from the diner and puts it all on the table including our coffees. So we both sit down at the table.

"So Kayce can i know your story now" ruby asks

I let out a sign, "so you want to know my story? For a while I didn't feel comfortable around my family in a weird way. For a while I felt I had to get away to run so I finally did at my brother's wedding out of all things. I had an anxiety attack. Actually I had two. I was eating dinner with my family then I excused myself then I ran. I ran away from the wedding and if you want I can explain everything in more details even how I got to your little town. "As I finish I look up at ruby who has already had a wide eye expression.

"You can tell me more if you're comfortable" ruby says

I let out a deep breath, " well for a while now i didnt like i should be near my fami;y i felt like i belonged somewhere else. Then a few days ago was my birthday and that day went fine. On Christmas I got a mystery gift for someone with a note that said "I wish you were mine but I don't want to cross a certain line mi amor." I didn't know who sent it then a few days later it was my brother's wedding and i wore the dress that came with the mystery gift. Then later that night i found out who wrote the note and it was my brother's best friend who liked me and i like him and he asked me out i said yes and later i had an anxiety attack. And my emotions were mixed and bottled up and I finally had enough so I decided to run away and now I'm here.

I looked back at Ruby who had her mouth wide open,"oh my god, so the guy who left the gift was your brothers friend and i'm guessing a lot has been going on in that mind of your for a while and finally you brusted and then you ran away from everything and now your here at a random person's house in a small town. Well now you're in a small town called MIddleBury." Ruby says

"Yup...so what now" i ask her

"Well i think you should stay here meaning you're gonna move in with me and we will go shopping because you will need clothes and we will figure the rest out together and you could if you want to get a job at the cafe."

I look up at her with surprise,"why you don't even know me"

She gives me the warmest smile" because that what good humans, also i'm following my gut and you remind me of my mom she was or is a runaway"

"Thank you it means a lot" i tell her

"Well let's bring your bags to you new room and then we can go out get more coffee and then go shopping okay?" she asks

I look up at her "okay"

Me and ruby stand up and we start walking out to her car and as i look out at her yard in the very corner lies a small tombstone with the name Jon. it's probably something important so I decided not to ask about it later.
