the next day after school, the losers all meet at the quarry. richie throws his arms around eddie but he pushes him away. richie tries to kiss him but eddie slaps him in the face. "what the hell is wrong with you?" richie asks. the losers all turn around to see whats happening. "just leave me alone" eddie says calmly. he takes his shirt and shorts off and jumps into the water. "what the heck?" richie says. they all shrug their shoulders. once all of them are in the water, they play around, splashing each other and playing marco polo. eddie acts like nothing has happened but richie sees that something is wrong. he swims over to eddie and kisses him on the lips. eddie pushes him away and says "what the hell? get off me". "baby, whats wrong? why wont you kiss me?" richie asks. by now the losers are all looking in their direction. eddie sighs. "when i was walking home on valentine's day, i overheard you talking to bill in an alleyway. i heard you say 'i don't even like him. i was just pretending so i can get him to do stuff'" eddie replies. "...what? ...ohhh, baby no. i was talking to bill about my partner i got paired up with for my history project. he never does any of the work so i'm pretending to be nice so he does some of it" richie explains. "ohhh... you promise?" eddie asks. "promise" richie says. "well, nevermind! i'm sorry, i thought you meant you didn't like me!" eddie apologises. "it's okay. don't worry, i would never do that!" richie replies. the two hug and kiss and the rest of the losers are all looking at each other with a look on their faces like: "what the hell just happened".
