(Welcome back)

Tamlin's POV:

My expression softens, and suddenly I felt foolish. Of course she wasn't gullible enough to believe everything Rhysand said. And yet... the thought of her even speaking to another male, much less one as dangerous as Rhysand... it made my blood boil. I snap out of my trance as y/n shoo's us out to get changed. Moments later, y/n walks down the stairs, even living with her for 15 years her beauty suprises me every day. Her blue gown flows at her feet as she walks towards us. Father smiles standing to kiss her on the cheek, I notice Dorian and Alaric rolling their eyes. Y/n takes a seat and digs into her breakfast, eating only a quarter then standing and walking back up the stairs. Worry hits me in the stomach as I notice she hasn't been eating a lot lately. I follow her up the stairs and see her bend over in pain just infront of her bedroom door.

Y/n's POV:

A sudden jolt of pain stabs me in the stomach as a vision appears into my head.

I walk towards the ship which holds the cauldron and it calls my name. "You have a vision for me?" I can feel it grin and blanket me with it's power. "Yes, y/n, war is coming between the fae and humans and no one can stop it, death will come and life will go". I open my mouth to ask for more but my body begins to shake and move back into the real world.

I open my eyes and Tamlin is shaking me worry plastered all over his face. "Thank the mother you are okay! What happened?" I look at him, with fear in my eyes. "What is it? What did you see?" Dorian appears with Alaric behing him, obviously called up earlier by Tamlin. "War is coming, between humans and fae". Our father runs up, "War you say, prepare the forces, Hybern wants us on his side." I look over at my father, hatred appearing in his eyes. "Father, what about the humans, they can't defend themselves, this is cruel." My father looks into my eyes shaking his head at my comment. "Who cares?" His comment breaks my heart and I stand running to my room and slamming the door, locking it with magic. I scramble around my room packing as fast as possible, not wanting to fight the humans.

Tamlin breaks through with my brother's behind him just as I winnow away.

Tamlin's POV:

"Where is she? Father!!!" Our father appears, "What is going on son?" He looks around y/n's room noticing the clothing thrown everywhere and the empty room with no sign of y/n. "She winnowed just as we got in." Alaric steps forward and his claws appear as he rips apart the room screaming our little sister's name. "I will get the guards searching the courts for her." I nod knowing they will find her and bring her to her true home.

Y/n's POV:

I arrive at the night court's gates guarded by two of his guards. The guards at the gates immediately took notice of my presence, their eyes narrowing as I pace back and forth. One of them stepped forward, a hand on his sword. "State your business," he said gruffly. I look up noticing their presence. "My name is y/n and I am here to speak to the High Lord" I notice the guard look me up and down. "That is no reason for you to be here!", the shorter one states as Mor appears behind them. "Let her in, she is a friend". The gates open as a grin appears on Mor's face. Mor smiled warmly at Mackenzie as she entered. "It's good to see you," she said. "What brings you to the Night Court?"

"I need to speak to Rhys!" Mor's eyebrows raised at that. "Rhys, huh?" she asked, a smirk playing at the corner of her lips. "And what exactly do you need to see him for?" I poke her in the ribs and she laughs. "I had a vision of an incoming war and I needed to get away from Spring." Mor's expression immediately turned serious at that. "War?" she repeated, her eyes narrowing. "What do you mean? With who?" I look her in the eyes and grab her hand. "I'll tell you all together". She squeezes my hand and winnows me into the house above the Hewn City. Cassian and Azriel sit in the living room with Rhys grabbing drinks in the kitchen. Mor pulls me into the living room and Azriel stands as Cassian runs over lifting me up in a hug. "I missed you, flower". I laugh and hug him back as Rhys walks in behind me. "I didn't realize we had company" I hear a familiar voice say from behind me. Cassian places me down and I turn to face the High Lord of the Night Court.

"Good to see you, Rhysand" Rhysand chuckled softly at her formality. "Please, call me Rhys," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "And it's good to see you too, y/n. Though I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised to find you here." I shrug and turn to see Amren walking in. I grin and amren drops her book on the ground running into my arms. Once we stopped hugging Rhysand pipes up, "I hate to interrupt this touching reunion," he said, a hint of annoyance in his voice, "but I believe y/n has something important to tell us." I nod and take a seat next to Amren who stares at me as if she is suprised to see me. "I had a vision of a war between the humans and fae and I'm not only here to warn you but because I want to fight with you"

All expression fell from the faces of Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel as they heard Mackenzie's words. After a few moments of stunned silence, Rhysand spoke up. "Are you sure about this, y/n?" he asked, his voice serious. "Fighting a war with an enemy court is not a decision to be made lightly."
